I have a question re the 'lorry loads' of supplies...Are they giving the impression that the WT pays for these from contributions..? As I recall a disaster some years ago (sorry, can't recall where) and our local Kingdom Hall (and I'm assuming many others) all made up boxes of basic supplies to be sent out - individual JWs buying the necessary products, so the only 'cost' (if any) to the WTBTS was the transport.

Preliminary report: 58 JWs died in Haiti
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://www.jwbrothers.org/play.php?vid=2080.
among jehovahs witnesses, congregation elders work tirelessly to make contact with all members of the congregation to ensure that they are safe or can get to a safe place.
also, the elders check to be sure that each one has lifes necessities, such as clean drinking water, food, clothing, and essential medication.

Every time a disaster happens, it's all about them
by JimmyPage inthe earthquakes in haiti affected by far more non-jws than dubs.
but every time something like this happens, somehow it's all about them!
it's a fulfillment of prophecy, and oh, how are our brothers doing, and screw the rest of the "ungodly" world!

Your observations reminded me of what the WT leaders did when the World Trade Center was struck on 9/11. We've all seen the people running
down the streets with terror in their faces while trying to escape huge plumes of smoke and dust right behind them.
The WT leaders ordered the doors to all of their building LOCKED so no one could get in and out of danger.
I've read this before on here - can anyone supply the source..? It's an absolute disgrace if true.
I'm getting more and more cynical about the WT - I can imagine them rubbing their hands together now, Sunday morning meeting, nice fat bonus in 'contributions'.

The food has been sent to the Assembly Hall disaster centre close to Port-au-Prince, where they have a kitchen in order to cook and provide the food to the brothers and sisters there.
Are they only giving shelter and food to fellow JWs as this implies?
These brothers have been guiding the vehicles through as the streets are full of people, and this makes progress more difficult. As there are still 15-20 aftershocks every night, even those who still have their houses standing feel safer out on the streets than inside a building. Therefore it has been slower getting through the country.
Maybe it's just my interpretation, but this reads as though actual victims were hindering them...I know it isn't possible to help everyone, but I can't help thinking that non-JW victims really do not matter.

Just seen on News that UK charities will be helping fund relief in Haiti...the WT being a registered charity here, I wonder what its contribution will be..?

Meanwhile, Witness families in safe areas open their homes to fellow Witnesses among the evacuees. Such love truly is “a perfect bond of union.”
I've never understood this...how is this loving..? Can you imagine any other religious group specifying only 'taking in' their own 'kind' when faced with such an awful tragedy (the WT would slate any other religion as being unChristian)..? It's just human kindness to help anyone who is in dire need.

Once again, the WT presumes to interpret what Jesus 'evidently' meant. What does it say in the Bible about 'interpretations'? As far as the 'generation' definition, everyone knows what a generation is. The WT not only changes the Bible to suit its doctrine, but it seems is willing to change the dictionary (written by apostates, so important words like 'generation' are misdefined in order to stumble True Christians)

Have a laugh at these cringe-worthy Watchtower interpretations. JW's must be so embarrassed.
by yadda yadda 2 inutterly embarrassing.

I could never get my head around all the dates/numbers - it's only since being de-dubbed that I know why.

Stumbling Your Fellow Brothers
by dig692 ini just felt the need to express my thoughts on the matter of "stumbling others" in the congregation.
they tell you that you are accountable for your own soul and responsible for your own spirituality, and then they tell you that you can't do something if its going to stumble your brother.. if a brother/sister sees me doing something not condemned in the bible but maybe is a matter of conscience and he/she is stumbled...why is that my fault?
what makes me accountable for that?

Also, to add (sorry) - I have noticed a 'blame culture' amongst JWs. When Worldly people do 'wrong' (eg., adultery) it's because they are sinners/part of Satan's System etc...when JWs do the same, it often isn't their fault - they (often) do not take responsibility for their sins. As in my example.
