you know who mr. pressure is don't you?.
he is the little man who comes and sits on your shoulder during the day.. and, when it all goes real bad.................................. he grabs your ear.
and leans in.

we all know how disfellowshipped or disassociated children get treated by their jw parents, that they are totally shunned.
but what happens when it comes to family inheritance do they get treated fairly or do they get a lesser share or in extreme cases perhaps nothing at all?
and would jw parents that have no children left in the wts choose to give everything to the org?
I know that both of my parents both got a decent inheritance when their parents died. My mom doesn't have anything now. My stepdad took out loans against his inheritance before my grandmother died. Then he got the remainder. There is no doubt in my mind that none of us kids, since none of us are JWs will get a penny. I do believe that after they are buried, I may have to have a cross, or something carved on the tombstone! I will have the last laugh one way or another!
it was sitting on a bench in the gazebo outside the hospital where my patient is.
i wrote on the back and on the inside cover and left it there.
wanna know what i wrote?.
When I was working at a hospital in Dallas it got to be a joke. Anytime the other nurses/techs would find the magazines they'd bring them to me, where they promptly got "file 13'd. (trashed). When I get a new computer, I think printing labels to stick on them would be appropriate!
Chalk one up for our side!

.
hi 9th wonder and welcome to jwd.... hope you enjoy your stay and looking forward to your posts.. miss peaches
Welcome and happy b-day!!!!
Not all of us Americans are in bed. I have bad insomnia and usually stay up pretty late, or early.

i have been df'd for over 3 years (for the third time... you know it's the charm).
i have an 8 year old who is being taught by my parents the same things that i was taught, including how we can't celebrate birthdays.
i have been doing a little research on the origin of worldly customs, such as weddings and birthdays only to find that there are many wedding customs that witnesses have adopted that have pegan origins.
I had my first birthday party when I was 17 yrs. It was great. All my sisters and I go way overboard on our kids birthday parties. I guess we are living them thru our kids. And boy, are all the kids eating it up.
i have been out of the jw's for many years now but i still have devout jw's family members.
and i am attending college now at 40 yrs old working on my ba degree.
i was so happy a few years ago when my jw mom told me that the wt is slacking off on telling jw's teenagers that college is bad and it is ok to attend college and universities.
You know they can't have educated people that can actually think for themselves at the KH. They might actually question the teachings and cause a mutiny. Besides, someone has to take over all the janitorial and window cleaning businesses before long.

all this demon talk reminded me of an incident that happened in our hall to a friends mother.
she had just had a baby, her 4th, that was unexpected.
her other 3 kids were much older.
When I was a young teenager I started having nightmares and bad insomnia. It really got bad. The elders and my parents answer-- they had the damn nerve to BURN my stuffed bear that I had for years. He was my only comfort. NEVERMIND the fact that my stepdad was sneaking in my room at night, molesting me!! (I only smell one demon here, and it wasn't my teddy bear!!
.
does anyone have any experience with this or know what is happening?.

Usually there's a good explanation. But, I guess I do have a slightly different perspective on spirits. And when it comes to children, they are very discerning. And yes, they do like to tell stories!

well actually i'm giving the whole bit, plasma, platelets, while/red cells...for the first time and i'm very excited!
sounds very massochistic, but it's not for the love of pain, it's just that it's taken me so long to become mentally ofe' with it.
i've had a mental block about it for so long, but have gradually enabled myslef to overcome it by educating myself more fully on the subject.
I'm so proud of you! Look at your growth. Being a nurse, I give blood routinely. Plus, I'm O positive, too. I see the need and the good that happens from blood donations and organ donations. When you walk out, you get a good feeling knowing that you've helped save someone's life.

i'll start by saying a big hello!
to everyone on the board, i wish i had known about it when i was still a teenager in the religion.
what i am curious about is the jw view on people getting therapy for mental/emotional disorders.
In our congregation that was a NO-NO. My mom suffers from severe clinical depression. She has refused for over 25 years to go to a therapist. She treats herself with St. John's Wort. Says the KH is all the treatment she needs. She will only leave her house to go to work and meetings.
Now me, I'm told I'm bipolar and have post traumatic stress syndrome. But I tend to think that we are all bipolar to a point, after all we have been through. Mom won't go to the dr, but sure wants me to!!
