I saw this and also wanted to add my prayers and hugs. I know they say time heals all, but losing kids is never easy at any time!

got a phone call from my daughter who lives in florida a couple of hours ago.
her significant other who i chose to call my son-in-law (because he is the best thing to ever happen to her) got a phone call that his 6 year old daughter was killed in an auto accident near lake placid, florida and his 5 year old son is in very critical condition.
the ex wife is also critical.
I saw this and also wanted to add my prayers and hugs. I know they say time heals all, but losing kids is never easy at any time!

i'm in a relationship now and its my first serious one.
she keeps telling me that she's scared because she believes i'll eventually get bored with her and start wondering how it feels like with other women.
so she wants me to hook up with other girls when she goes out of the country for the fall semester.. personally i dont want to, but this is making me wonder, in the average person's first ,serious relationship, whats the cause of the breakup?
I had just left the JW's. I was 17 and in love. But, I didn't want marriage or committment. After all, that's what I thought would immediately happen. That's the way we were raised. I didn't know I didn't have to get married right away. I wish I would have known alot more then!! But don't we all!
jehovah's witnesses are subtly discouraged from contributing to any charities other that the watchtower society.
while acknowledging that groups other that the wt may do "some good", jw's may feel that charitable groups are generally dishonest, wasteful or simply not doing things "jehovah's way.".
now, as an ex-jw, have you found any charities worthy of your monetary support?
Another thread I hated to see end!
I'm partial to the Red Cross. I've done alot with them and have seen how alot of lifes are actually saved. Not just thru blood donation (hint, hint), but also during natural and man-made diasters.

i'm curious to know when the territory card system came out.
any ideas?.
in some congs i have been in, the territory servant is printing out the maps in color for each car group.
Sounds like someone is brown-nosing and trying to climb the ladder. Maybe he needs to go out in preaching and not have so much time on his hands!!! LOL
i'm not but i bet that there are some that quiety worry about it.....what about you?
?
I say, BRING IT ON!!
i have never been in jehovas withness.
but the hatred, they put on your heads, are absolutely not fair, actuly, you only think like the rest of us out side, jehovas witness.
is you know what the wathtower really is.
Out of curiousity, why are you so interested in us? What is your story?? If you are not a JW, how do you know about what is in literture that is 2 yrs. old??
i recently bought a high powered rifle and am presently buying a pistol for back-up.
i have a cross bow, a compound bow, and several swords and knives, in fact i have been collecting knives for some time and have learned how to use them in defending myself and in taking the initiative in learning to defend myself.
i am quite versed in using both the croww bow and the compound bow, it seems the goverment doesn't want to defend us and just wants to unarm us.
My ex took my 9mm away from me. He and he oil-field buddies were "paging" each other for "jobs" to go out on. My and other girlfriends found out that most of the time their "jobs" were in the strip joints in Dallas. We were partying, waiting for them. I missed him and blew out the pretty bay windows. oops!
most here will know of the serious illness i've been fighting for the past two years.
well, this morning i decided to go for a stroll to try and help build up my fitness.
at the bottom of my street lives an elder from my old congregation and i have to pass his house.
Ian,
All I can say is "you're 'da man!" I couldn't have reacted like that. My mouth tends to override my ass!

just wondering... how many of us had the perfect jw family?.
by that i mean, never in trouble with the elders, no loss of restrictions, no disphellowshippings, disassociatings, fadings, reproof - public or private.. of course most of us fit one of these categories.
what about any other families in your congregations?
To the congregation, we had it all for awhile. Dad (stepdad) was a MS, mom had 5 kids at home. We went out in service every weekend. I went during the summer. He was a carpenter, and we all worked at the janitorial service we owned. Behind close doors, he molested me, my parents fought like cats and dogs, even had seperate bedrooms. Mom suffered from clinical depression. I raised my sisters and brother. After I got baptized I got tired of it all. Started making the elder's work for their titles. After getting sick and tired of elder's meetings, (My stepdad went running to the elders every time I sneezed wrong, instead of acting like a parent.) and being molested I ran away and went to my dad's in Texas.
Now, all of us kids are out. My stepdad got "intentionally DF'd" when he married his 3rd wife. He got reinstated of course. My mom is still in, after being DF'd once for adultery. I could go on, I think our pic is next to dysfunction, along with all of yours.
pick'em pool
since our football season is starting up soon, i was interested in gauging interest in a non-gambling football pool.
this would be for the professional leagues only, and could be picking winners straight-up or against the las vegas pointspread as posted by the usa today on the tuesday before the games on sunday and monday.. there would be weekly winners, and a season long winner.
If you can explain how it works carefully and slowly, since I'm a blonde, I'll play.
