Where did you get Texas from? I'm not from Texas, I am in California. Sorry
So am I. LOL
here is why, even though i no longer agree with most of what the gb/wt/jw's teach, i still feel especially close to all of us who were apart of this group.
born in or converted.
we all have had the same life experience of being raised in a over bearing mind controlling cult.

this is funny!
i was surprised that he did not mention jw's, but all the same applies.
many pardons if this has already made the rounds - i just became aware of it by a friend posting it on fb yesterday.. jeff.
Very funny!
.....bringing someone into the organization of jehovah's witnesses?
personally, i had several bible studies, but thankfully, never got any of them all the way to baptism.
my conscience is clear..
I too am grateful that during my 10 year sojourn through the Watchtower, I did not succeed in bringing anyone into the fold.....at least I am not aware of any.
wow!!!
i've just noticed that i've been on this forum for a whole year... it's incredible how time flys after escaping the wt's control.... i don't really know what to say at a time like this... except that i have grown to appreciate all kinds of people and i have healed completely thanks to many of you on this forum (like dog patch, barbara, jw facts, terry, marvin shilmer, sizemik, mad sweeney, doug mason and many others that have escaped my memory).... and how can i forget to thank outlaw and punkofnice for adding their humor to it all.... anyway, thanks everyone... i'm a much better person today because of you and i appreciate it very much....
Yes, it's amazing how fast time flies. I have been here 6 years now but it sure does not seem that long. Happy 1 year anniversary.
how many times did you hear that?
it wasn't until i read with disbelief no room for george's pitiful statement about being proud to be a jw did i start to think of a simple of way of discrediting the jws... it needed a simple scriptural phrase that causes them to shoot their own foot!.
so - how many different ways can you think of where jws have "gone beyond the things written"?.
The problem is they consider their own writings as "things written".

They forbid anyone to celebrate certain days as holier than others in violation of Romans 14.
5 One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind. 6 Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7 For none of us lives for ourselves alone, and none of us dies for ourselves alone.
a few days ago i received a friend request from an a guy whom i used to work with many years ago.
i accepted his request and this morning i receieved a salutation from him as well as a link to a video (posted below).
much of what is in the video sounds as if it came straight from the watchtower such as the use of "christendom" as all other churches, the paganism that permeates christianity, the removal of god's name from the bible.
YeHuWaH - Another addition to the list. LOL
