My interest in the Jehovah's Witness Org. stems from a couple of sources. One is my innate curiosity about religious matters and the other is occasional contact with members of the afore mentioned. I come from a denominational background but have in recent times come to the opinion that denominations are often the source of unbiblical doctrines propigated in the form of tradition. Therefore, I am now non-denomintional. Why am I posting things here now? You can thank the Church of Christ for that. I had a coworker last year who was COC. He knew the COC line on every doctrine and eventually convinced two other co-workers to start going to church with him and date his friends. Long story short- the girl who had a weak penta-babti-??? background is now a submissive COC member and the girl who grew up babtist and had fairly a good understanding of the basic theological principles of Christianity rejected the COC's Traditions and doctrines. Through this I learned how valable it is to have a firm foundation in one's faith. It breaks my heart to know that if I was doing what I was supposed to be doing, the one girl would probably not be COC right now. It was through conversations with the second girl that I really began to study what the Bible says on divisive doctrines and really became more interested in cults and cult like movements. jW's and COC's seem to have quite a bit in common. I intend to find out more. So everytime the fellow who comes into my place of business and offers a Watchtower or other booklet, I will take it politly. Tony Alamo, your next on my list.
