the wt always put a lot of importance on the subject that jesus was not born the 25 of dec. now my question is why is there two different stories in the bible about jesus birth?
in luke 2 there is one story and in matthew there is an other.
in luke it says that jesus was born during a census when quirinius was governing syria but in matthew it says that he was born when herod the great was still alive.

Jesus was not born on the 25th of December...that is another thing by itself.
It does not really matter when Jesus was born...the point is HE was born.
"He was born to this earth through a virgin, it was told this way centries before,
He opened the entrance to Heaven so sinners could pass through its doors.
A few men would listen and less would believe....."
Jesus was probably born around October. I've heard that somewhere.

the koran and the bible says to do the same acts of violence to anyone who worships a different god.. deuteronomy 13:6-8, it reads: "if thy brother, the son of thy mother.
or thy son, or thy daughter, or thy wife of thy bosom.
or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, let us go and serve other gods which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; (7) namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth unto the other end of the earth (8) thou shalt not consent unto him, nor harken unto him; neither shalt thou conceal him (9) but thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people.
steve: so far, you have failed to comment on Jehovah's and Allah's long historial reputation for wiping out man, woman and child regardless of presumed innocence or otherwise.
There is a difference about the "wiping out" between God and Allah most definitely.
Allah is a god that would wipe out people if they don't love him. Allah do not love people just like that. Allah's followers are very sure that they must kill for him...because that is what islam teaches. They are fighting for land. What are they fightin for. Allah loves war. People who love war have hate in their hearts. They are the ones who murder and kill the innocent. Followers do not have hope....where do they go?
God is the Almighty Creator who loves us first and has mercy on us when we do wrong things. So because of sin God would want to wipe out the wickedness (as in Noah and the Ark). With respect to children....they all go to heaven. God does not want them to suffer anymore on this earth where wickedness abound. (Think of a horse that has been damaged...the owner will normally put down the horse to end it's suffering...yet the horse does not have a soul....we do.) God warns us first, He wants us to feel sorry for our nasty sins and ask forgiveness and not to do them again. He doesn't just destroy like a lunatic as you think. His believers do not go around killing people. God does not go around killing people. Satan is the one that does that. Jesus saves us when we are true to Him. We have hope in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He will hold our hand and carry us home. We have somewhere better to go.

jgnat: Though I have faint hope that I will get reason out of this discussion, hibiscusfire, if the Muslims worship another god, how many gods do you think there are?
Yes the Muslims worship one of the many other pagan gods. They do not worship God the Almighty Creator.
There are many many false gods. I am sure you know about them. These gods when compared to the Alpha and the Omega are jokes. My God is a Spirit and He is alive. False gods are made of concrete, clay, ceramic.....and man made them. We have spirits can you see your spirit in the mirror? God is like a Great Powerful Light. ...so powerful you will just drop dead...that is why Jesus said,
John 14:6... "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Can you make a list of all the gods and compare what they are about and claimed to have done....compared to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (one Almighty God).

jehovah never had a father.
he never knew the feeling of being slighted, less loved than one of his favored siblings.
based on the above, was the first incident of sibling rivalry mishandled by jehovah?
tms: Both men gave Jehovah what they had worked hard to produce. Since Jehovah preferred animal fat to vegetables, he showed favoritism toward Abel and rejected Cain's offering.
Oh good grief. TMS it has nothing to do with meat or vegetables.
Let's take it from the time of Adam and Eve. God wanted the earth to be filled with more people. So God gave Adam and Eve children. First there was Cain and then Abel. Ofcourse they had other children but you are talking about CAIN and ABEL.
Because God had been so merciful to Adam and Eve they loved Him, and they in turn wanted these two boys to love and please God too. So they taught them about God and about giving thanks to Him. They would lay their offering on altars.
Cain was a farmer and Abel was a sheperd. The two, now grown men, built the altars to offer thier gifts to God. Cain brought the produce he planted and Abel the best of his lambs. God was pleased with Abel's gift because Abel was sincere....he was more more sorry for any sins that he would have done and his need for forgiveness was genuine. God was not pleased with Cain's gift.
Cain instead of being humble and asking what he did wrong became very, very angry and very, very sad. God asked him why he was so angry and sad. He told him if he does well his gift would be accepted. If not, God told Cain that he would be taken by sin. God told Cain to not let sin take him over. He wanted Cain to control his sins.
When Cain and Abel were alone some time, Cain got so horribly angry that he killed his brother. When God asked Cain where his brother was, he replied that he did not know, and..."Am I my brother's keeper?"
God punished Cain because He knew what he had done. Cain was to work hard still as a farmer but his crops would not be up to standard, also he was to wander all over the place...he would not have a place to call home. Cain couldn't bear that type of punishment and was worried that people will kill him if he were to roam all from place to place. God promised to put a mark on him that people would know they were not to hurt him. Cain ended up in a place called Nod where he lived for a very long time.
God was still merciful to the wretch.

i watched a movie last night called the eye 2. it was about the buddhist belief in reincarnation.
in the movie, souls wait for women to give birth in order to reincarnate into the baby.
Jeff: Hibiscusflower: One Christian to another - its people like you that give Christianity a bad name. Keep in mind that some day we will all be called to give an account of what we did with the life God gave us.
Hey Jeff as a believer in Christ to you as a Christian I hope you know that you just judged me wrongfully.
People said I was cold because I did not say I was sorry? Please ....the last thing some people would want to hear is, "I'm so sorry for your loss!"
That is cold! ..."And I hope you find what you are looking for" ....???
I don't want to say that....I prefer to say, "Keep courage. Your baby is all around you. Keep the memories alive. Cry and cry...you will not forget but the pain will ease. Take the time to meditate and pray. Pray for peace of mind. This is a time to understand what life is truely about. There is more to life than what meets the eye and when we die we will all go somewhere very nice. Now is the time to find out what more there is. When you seek, you shall find. One day you shall see your baby again. "
Of course this just doesn't end there....
You know you will find in these times that family and friends tend to give their condolences.....for a while...then it stops...life goes on...however that person will still remember...in these times God is there to hold the person to give comfort ....when no one (physical person) is around.

steve: That doesn't make them people worthy of being destroyed - although, from a strictly Biblical perspective, you might be able to argue that it does...
What about the bad people....the ones without any morals or virtues....what would you do? These people know that they should not do these horrible things but they still do. What would you do about them?
Keep trying to train them or disciplining someone who repeatedly do the wicked act over and over again? Tell me how you would feel if a member of your family was hurt badly or even murdered. Would you send the to a psychiatrist and tell them, "Hey man, that's ok, you had a hard life growing up...come into my house and we will work it out."
hmmmm? How would you feel and what would you do?

johndoe: Serious law breakers are a relatively small segment of society.
These law breakers cause much hurt, pain and injustice to people. And they are not a small segment as you claim. Can you give figures?
All you can only say is that you would just sit back and have a good time drinking and having free sex and have a wild party with drugs ...you know "enjoy" yourself in such a sick way without even a care... while those who have lost much are suffering so much? People's hurt are a joke to you.
God is watching everyone of us. ...All our actions we would have to account for. You are not afraid of the judgement now but when it comes you will be afraid.
He would not let His people be hurting in this sinful world for long.

AO.....
What are you being sorry for? That is hope? No one else seem to know the answer but hopes that the poor woman would find it somehow. Who is going to tell her?
I answered the question according to the Word of God. This is hope.......and faith......
But Jesus said, Suffer ( allow ) little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 19:14
When children die they go to heaven.
God is the Alpha and the Omega. ....why did you choose such a name?
