I was looking at the weather channel a few days ago and they said that scientists are trying to find a way to prevent hurricanes and storms or to stop them in thier tracts.

One example was to place a layer of oil on the sea....to prevent it taking up moisture from the sea.

Another example was to throw some kind of chemical or spray or something to disolve it.

What about the effects these would cause?

They said hurricanes occur to cool the earth right. So if they stop the hurricane or storm from doing what they are supposed to do what about the heat on the earth. In my opinion, I strongly believe that this would give more rise to volcanic activity and earthquakes.

The Ozone Layer has something to do with this. Global Warming.

I have an idea!!! Think of a glass of water. Take out some water, freeze it and put it back into the glass. The water is cooled............

Now think about a device that can take water out from the sea (with the contents of sea water minus the sea life), freeze it and drop it back in various locations......does this sound impossible???

MIAMI Aug 10, 2005 — Tropical depression Irene regained some strength Wednesday as it followed a course toward the East Coast, raising the possibility it could eventually hit the United States as a hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said.

Irene's top sustained wind had strengthened to 35 mph, up 5 mph from earlier in the day, and it could reach tropical storm status by Thursday, meteorologists said. Tropical storms have sustained wind of at least 39 mph.

It is possible that Irene could reach hurricane strength with sustained wind blowing at 74 mph as it will be passing over warmer water, said Jennifer Pralgo, a hurricane center meteorologist.

Tthe storm was becoming disorganized and could soon dissipate.

At 11 a.m. EDT, Irene was centered about 810 miles southeast of Bermuda and about 455 miles northeast of the northern Leeward Islands, forecasters said.

It was moving west at near 10 mph and was expected to continue that motion over the next five days in the general direction of the U.S. coastline from Florida to the Carolinas, the hurricane center said.

Irene became a tropical storm Sunday, the ninth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season. Normally, there are only two named storms by this time of year.

I had to give the beat down to some guy who hit his girlfriend once. It would have been easier to just jump in a cab and speed off while giving them both the middle finger, but what person in their right minds could just leave that type of a situation and not do anything?

GBL It's not that simple here. The guy would come after you and kill you or get people to do that. It's getting bad here. HF

Mrs. Jones: Oh yeah, the Woman without a dog got arrested and sent to jail for attacking a cop. Oh, I should also say there were quite a few people peeking out their windows but only 2 people other than myself came outside to see about the Woman with dog. That was admirable. Where I live the person who went to jail would take revenge. They don't stay very long in jail. HF

As far as the cops doing bad things, that may be true in some cases, but I think the majority of them do try to do a good job. Maybe you're still suffering from post-dub paranoia. Policemen aren't perfect by a longshot, but most of them aren't monsters either.

Well that's true not all police men are bad. Right now they are investigating police officers.

Brenda: call the abulance company and find out where they took her and maybe even her name. They, if she's still in the hospital, go and see her. That's just it we have different ambulance services. I don't even know which one. The only thing I could do to find out is from the vendor who was there. He wasn't there this morning for me to ask. Besides the system here is that someone would die first before help arrives or if you don't have money. Our health services are poor unless you have money. I travel I don't have a vehicle so it's hard for me sometimes unless I hire a taxi in that moment of need. Also people don't have that kind of information as to just call and say so so so you know...it will take a long while. A simple thing there is only one telephone no. to get into a particular hospital. HF

How could a whole crowd of people leave a woman like that without helping her, including a woman who claims to be a Christian?

Hey don't bash me so much please...you don't know how I really felt ok. There were vendors and many other people there besides the 2 men dragged her next to the vendor's stall. It was the first time I experienced that!

Just because people are Christians doesn't mean they are not human.

I was angry and upset ok!!!!!

Look there were many occasions I helped people funky

Another example was the man who fell off his bicycle...as little as I was I ran and helped him up and the other person picked up his bicycle...I'm not heartless ok. Did you ever consider if I was heartless I wouldn't have even bothered to think about it still. No it's not a guilty conscience it's one of feeling hopeless in the place I live. People have changed where I live ok....look at the dang police!!!

A police officer admitted to someone that when people call the station for help they say that they will come...but he said they prefer to go after everything is finished so they wouldn't get hurt in the process!!!!!

Was there anything that happened that you just choose not to get involved because of the outcome later on?

I do help people you know but that was too much for me.

I helped someone who got in a fight when an iron rod when through the person's mouth.

Thank you ...I will. ..that means a lot to me. I really don't have much faith in the police now. The whole country doesn't either because a lot of them are involved in crime now. It's sad. I wished I could have gone up to her but I wasn't brave enough to do that.
