  I am still don't know if I believe in Jesus or not. However, we celebrate christmas because I feel it is a traditional thing to do. It is fun and something to look forward to. It is a known fact Jesus wasn't born on December 25th -- so IMHO its not really about Jesus. To me, it is about family togetherness and a time to be joyful. That's all.

  That is ridiculous man! Don't you know that a family that prays together stays together??

  Jesus is the reason you have family togetherness and Christmas is fun and something to look forward to because HE LIVES today!!! At Christmas you are celebrating the birth of Jesus and all that HE is.

  That X was to misguide people into taking off Christ from Christmas.

  Christmas is not about Santa Claus...no no no. I'm sorry but that is just wrong.

  This is a sensitive issue. The interjection of "Santa" into our Christmas gatherings...... Satan has infiltrated and defiled our Christian celebration of Christmas by adding the dimension of emphasizing Santa Claus at the celebration of the Savior's birth.

  Satan perverts that date because he hates to see people worshipping the Lord. Instead he diverts adults and children alike to revolve their attention around what Santa will bring that day instead of what the real meaning of the day really is.

  Chris: I prefer to call it xmas, because I only like the profane parts of that particular holiday. I don't think jc ever existed as a person, and I know he doesn't exist up there. Christmas is all about the birth of Jesus Christ. So if you don't believe in Jesus Christ why would you celebrate it? Because of the gifts and eats? HIBIE

  thinkee: I thought the "X" in Xmas would symbolize the "cross". If so, then Christ isn't really gone from it.

  Well it means cross OUT!!

  An X is an x ----cross out

  A + is a cross there is a difference.

  It irritates me when I see Christ being taken out of Christmas. That is not limited to only non-Christians--even Christians have adjusted to the commercialism of the holiday season.

  Obviously, not all of it is bad--in fact the holiday season provides the opportunity for families to reunite and also provides a pleasant break from our routines.

  Comparing Buddha with Jesus ...........

  It is said Siddhartha became the Awakened one, so Jesus became the Anointed one is a common misconception. Christ was the anointed one from eternity while the Siddhartha became the Buddha by searching and self discovery became illuminated. Anointing and enlightenment are two very different concepts .
