The amazing thing is though that when you are in the faith you don't see it that way. But once released it's like WOW - OH MY WORD!!!! I'm now trying to get my family out - but they thing I'm off on the broad road leading to distruction. But I'm not too fazzled any more by that. In the beginning when I initially left (about february this year) I thought I was gonna go crazy from the guilt and 'accusing voices' in my head.
But I've calmed down thank goodness.

Thank you muchly under74! I've been on freeminds before but didn't realise there was a forum as well. yeah I'm sure it will be great - reason being is at least ppl here know what it feels like to be trapped in a faith. At least I know I won't be judged. Huge relief. I must warn you though I can get very chatty.

I had to order the book in from the states. Didn't have it here in S.Africa. Haven't started reading it yet. Kinda still getting my head around the newer things you know. But I've heard Crisis.... is quite mind-blowing.

It's such a relief to be free!!!!! The things I've learnt about the organization have truly been quite 'scary' at times and left me wondering 'who really was controlling things' and who is today still controlling the strings of the organization?

houston, texas (ap) -- like a scene from the horror movie "the birds," large black grackles are swooping down on downtown houston and attacking people's heads, hair and backs.
Run! Hide! Protect yourselves!
Isn't it sad how we all used to truly believe that this was going to happen??? I when I was 15 and at school I never thought I'd reach matric (similar to the american seniors I guess or graduation) because "the end" was just around the cornder and now I'm nearly 30 and the end is still just around the corner.....what will they feel like in another 15 years......and then another.....and then another.......
Friends: True ones are oh so hard to come by - esp. as there is so much superficiality out there, people want to be your friend for what they can get out of you. Used to have many so called friends, but that changed when I left the faith. So pretty much stuck with family at the moment, at least they got to love you.
A true friend is someone who will always be frank with you, can critisize you but in a manner that seems upbuilding instead of insulting. Someone who can sit with you in the quite times and you're happy with that. Someone you can lean on when need be.....and so much more.
