My chat with an Elder about the UN thing! Help!
by awakening inwell it was a very long discussion.
the elder knew nothing about the scandal, but he stated that he had no issue with it since when the case was brought to light, the society acted immediately to right their course.
in fact he thought it was a sign that that the organisation was indeed the "truth".

They cannot unknowingly sign anything as the UN does stipulate very clearly whether an NGO or just for research purposes (DPI) that you have to support the UN charter....which means that the JW's agreed to that when they signed....
Plus it wasn't just for a month or too - it was for a number of years.
This is the disgusting thing that stands in a holy place - why would you want to be involved in it in any manner - how do you make a mistake like that.

Where is Jehovah?
by His Excellency inhow do we reconcile those bullshits being told at the meetings about how jehovah's eyes are upon us and how his figurative wings serves as protection to those who are destitute with the condition of these sickly sudanese refugees at this camp.. .

Hi momentofsurrender - welcome - you are so at home here. That is what I love about the forum - everybody gets it. Continue with your spiritual journey - what is so fantastic is that you can read whatever you want, ponder over it, looks something else up - you are not forced to believe one thing and there is absolutely no judgement.
All the very best.

Same place he was when the genocide took place and still takes place in Rwanda! I watched a documentary on the horrfying acts that had taken place and that started my questioning if god exists.

What is the best way to celebrate ?
by Phizzy inwhat is the best way for an inactive/ fader like me to celebrate the anniversary of my walking away from all things jw ?.
as my last meeting was the memorial several years ago, it always falls around this time of year.. my first instinct is,........ wait for it............. you've guessed it............... lots of beer !.
but what i was looking for was something that would send a message to jw's, especially family that are in, without them having a way to dismiss it as me being provocative or whatever.. any ideas ????

by MinistryOfTruth in[if gte mso 9]><xml> <o:officedocumentsettings> <o:allowpng /> </o:officedocumentsettings> </xml><![endif].
i have been lurking here for about a month or two.
it is really awesome to read so many similar experiences.. for example, when i was still 'in' i wondered if i was the only one in the hall that really hated the meetings.

Welcome to the forum! A good thing you didn't decide to get baptised and realised before it was too late what was 'up' with that faith.
Have an awesome life.

Hey Pink sapphire - I've been enquiring about zulu classes and the costs etc - they're pretty pricey now that the need is there. It makes sense to learn the language. AA (affirmative action) EE (employment equity) are all part of law - companies have to comply otherwise they get penalised, this just means that many are hired for their colour and not because they can do the job. It does suck being in the minority and merit is not used to score a candidate.
I do have one or two things up my sleeve - some of them take money in order to make money - and I'm pretty out of savings.
The job I have = soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo depressing. The 2 months I've been here I can feel that whole negative vibe strangling me again, the little light that I had nutured just about snuffed out. The old guy made 'wacking off / coming noises' - didn't appreciate that. I'm not a smoker and the smokers stand with the door open (my desk happens to be right by the door) and the smoke wafts in - setting off serious sneezing fits. I have to work every third weekend (not so bad) and holidays (suck) The people I phone are not interested in the prodcut - and that gets you down.
I have applied for another job at Times Media - It's a classified co-ordinator - so I'm holding my thumbs, crossing my legs and hoping that something comes of it.
