i know this is a wts discussion forum, but by some posts, it seems as if the wts never leaves some heads.
also, a lot seems to be conspiracy theory.

Myself on myself:::::::: My core personality has stayed the same, but obviously as one grows up things impact on you more or life b*tchslaps you into shape. I'm a thinker though not a worrier & I don't like to give the impression of a thinker - I just don't want people to think I'm Lording it over them. If I'm not sure on something I'll ask instead of blurting about like a fool. I enjoy having fun! The child in me manifests itself in my daily life. I don't want to grow up! And I believe in faires *clap your hands everyone* I usually give out good / positive vibes. Pretty much stay away from negativity as I find it draining. I'm too honest for my own good & it gets me into trouble - I will not lie to please someone. I love giving (receivings cool too). Making people happy. I love people. I enjoy good debates.....and some other stuff that will remain secret......
in the past i visited bethel and got to 'tour' around.
here men & women worked their asses off every single day - a full 8 & 1/2 hours a day.
they had to make sure they were up at the crack of dawn to attend the reading of the day text.
Talk about infringing on ones' rights.
The more I learn the more I'm so shocked and it amazes me how, even I was like a drone bee. It also peeves me that there is sweet blow all I can do about it.

DannyB - I commented on the flood - I'm just here I guess to question. I mean that's what got me axed from JWs' in the first place. There are civilisations that have the story of the flood, different God different other minor things but the common thread is that God destroyed the wicked people by a flood, saved a few & kept the animals safe. Surely where there is smoke there is fire??? how do you disprove the flood..... What about how some have proved or tried to prove it - that mamith that still had fresh frood in his mouth (reminds me of that movie "the day after tomorrow - where they had those quick freeze storms - wonder if those exist)
One thing I am is no expert I merely infuriate them with my questions.
the year 2034 has been mentioned in some posts here as the new date the watchtower is suggesting for armaggedon.
has the watchtower officially stated this?

And I can guarantee you that when it doesn't come in 2034 that they society then will say oh yes but remember that they had to wait for the waters to subside another 40 days (day for a year) push the date to 2074 - there will always be an excuse explanation for the big A not coming. They will always view it as a literal ending of mankind. You have to pity them.

does anyone know if there is any historical evidence to support king herod's mass killing of children under the age of two, when christ was born.. i can't find any.

On some evenings, other than meeting nights they had to attend preparing for the watchtower or do bible reading. They were also assigned to congregations in the surrounding areas & had to travel to these. Were expected to go on field service every weekend.
And they were payed such a little for their services - barely covering their petrol or toiletrie expenses. This is in effect exploitation of labour. Exploitation of people. I mean if these were people working in a normal comapny something would have been said - some stink would have been made.
Is it because they volunteer for this???? But even still - suerly there is a minimum wage or salary that they should get that is livable?
I was reading in Crisis of Conscience that @ bethel they were getting paid $14 - I'm sure it's gone up since then but it blows my mind that these people give so much, are expected to function normally at the end of an 8 1/2 hour day, still go to all meetings, fieldies, preparation, whatever other bethel service they had to do.
So are there any ex Bethelites that would like to share their stories???? Or any other comments about this to enlighten my wee mind. Would be great.
i would love to see jws "get out of her" and save anyone from getting involved with the witnesses.

Hey again DannyB - I think coming out and telling them that there is no God will not help the situation at all - I left the witnesses but I still believe in God. You said that believing in a God doesn't mean he exists, likewise not believing in him doesn't make him non-existent.
If they are very happy with others doing the thinking for them & they are not questioning, then you are going to have an extremely tough time trying to reason with them. I couldn't stand being told what to think any more, as I told the elders in my JC that 14 old men sitting in Brooklyn Bethel didn't know what *I* needed. All they said to that was that it was 14........
Another suggestion to get them out or to start them thinking for themselves is to approach them as if you need help on say - who really are the faithful & discreet slave - let them do research, you come out with your research and compare the two - ask questions that will get them thinking. Or try use the 607bce approach which blows 1914 out the window....but do it under the guise of you need help.

i was nervous before i went - and though i've given up the faith i haven't given up my belief in god and his direction.. two of the three elders have seen me grow up - i was born in the truth.
Thanks everyone. It still doesn't feel all that real - the fact that I'm no longer a JW. The announcement they make these days is "NAME is no longer a Jehovahs' Witness" They don't distinguish between disfellowshiping or disassociation any longer.
Today Kinda feel weird - I know it had to be done but every now and again I find myself second guessing my decision. But that's just the """"cutting off"""" is so new.
