Has "New Light" been mentioned? If it did, then I think it should be once more.

stunned silence.......this man is now a circuit overseer!
the phrase 'crazed extremist' comes to mind.. what was the most unbelievable, outrageous thing that was uttered in your earshot.

Those pictures are horrible, and they bring back repressed memories of childhood stories.
What I'd like to know is What in the world has that poor orange cat done to have to be destroyed too??! Who is the artist that got the sick idea to paint a cat plunging to his death? Did it really HAVE to be there?...Okay, sometimes I think too much....

Why I belong to JWD
by Jez inmy jw sil doesn't approve of me being on this site.
she has compared it to a black person having a friend that is a member of a anti-black community.
where else can you get so many varied opinions about a religion that i grew up in, would have died for, have family members that are members of, have questions about myself and find answers to some tough questions i have?

I was thinking about the same thing this morning, after I finished talking to the phone with my ex-JW mother.
Probably the first reason I came unto that site was because my father is still a JW and I'm DAed. That makes it very hard for my mother, because she always have to tear herself between my father and I. It makes for a very uncomfortable and tense family situation. So I come here to get courage and find tips that might help us free my dad's mind.

Did you "cry" when the JW's elders Disfellowshipped or Disassociated you?
by booker-t inmy niece who is 19 and involved with a "married" man had to meet with her jw's elders last week.
she was terrified because the elders have told her time and time again to get rid of her "married" boyfriend but she refused.
she is head over heels in love with the guy.

I DA'ed myself by letter...but when the elder called to ask if that's what I really wanted, I was determined to keep it cool and determined.
But I have always been an over-emotional person, and when he asked me if I understood that that would change things between my father and I (nice way of saying he'll shun you.), I felt tears of anger coming on...I stopped talking and considered hanging up on him, not give him the satisfaction of knowing it hurt me. But instead I started to rent about how unloving the arrangement was, and how Jesus would never have done that, because I'm really a good person, and that anyway I barely beleived in the Bible as it was, evolution, transplants, children dying...and all the while I was chocking on my tears, babbling, sniffling and almost screaming at times. I'm pretty sure a few of my neighboors heard me (appartements, lol).
And the elder seemed quite shocked because he had always known me as the very quiet, very shy, blushing sister that didn't speak a lot.

Bad kitty!!!! Bad! Bad! Bad Kitty!!!!! :S
by Elsewhere inso there i was... (i've always wanted to start a story with that line) .
i'm sitting here taking a look at the posts on jwd when i start to hear a commotion coming from the direction of the cats' litter box.
i look and one of my cats is jumping and flailing around... sometimes stopping to drag its ass across the floor... with cat crap dragging behind it.

Yes, cats are usually very clean animals...so you have to figure out why it's doing something like that. In the case of butt-dragging, it can be annal glands.
But when my little one kept pooing on the bed, my first reaction was "Bad kitty! Nono!" And then I thought...why is she doing that? Cats normally want to burry their stuff, and on there she can't. After I made some research, I realised that a cat doing this is trying to tell you that something isn't right with them. And sure enough, she had a food allergy (thus the diarrhea)..it all stopped when we changed her food.
Screaming, slapping or throwing water at them will only make the cat be cautious of you. They can't talk, so it's our job to see what's wrong.

Well, if you just pulled the floss a bit and it seemed easy to pull, I guess it's worth the try. If you had felt resistance, then it would not have been a good idea to um...force things.
Yes, it's a pretty gross thread, but when you take on the responsability of pets, you have to expect things like that. Anyway, you kind of grow accustomed to these sorts of happenings...just like a mother usually doesn't have a problem wipping poo off the bottom of her baby...lol...I don't find it a problem anymore to be around my furry babies' "gifts". (I had to spend more then two months dealing with kitty diarrhea, wich is probably one of the most revolting aroma in the world and sometimes it was on the freshly cleaned bed.) So it has become a regular conversational topic.lol

The vet told me once that when that happens, we shouldn't just pull it out because there are good chances that the string gets caught in there, resulting in serious internal injuries. So we should just be extra careful to not let anything "stringy" lie around. I'll need to hide my dental floss!!
------Scully!!-- it sounds like your cat is having issues with his anal glands! Poor thing. Here's what I found about it:
"Cats (and dogs, too) have little glands near our anuses that secrete scent marking oils. Usually the oils that are created in these glands are expelled without any problems.
But occasionally the glands get plugged up with waxy oils. That creates discomfort, which cats and dogs relieve by "scooting" across the floor.
The oil expressed by the anal glands is considered by humans to be rather offensive in odor. Well, OK, it does kind of stink, but it serves its purpose that way!
If your cat's anal glands get full, you can take him to the vet and the vet (or more likely a vet tech) will express the gunk out of them for you. Some groomers do this service, too.
If this happens regularly, it will save you a lot of money if you learn how to express your cat's anal glands yourself. It's a dirty job, but somebody's gotta do it!"
