I wonder if people really stop and think about us. They see us at the
markets, courthouses, street corners, gas stations, town centers, and
at their front door, to mention only a few places you'll find a Witness.
I was on this website of this man who has no legs, who has traveled
the world taking pictures of people while riding by on a skateboard. I
couldn't help but notice the bright-colored magazines being held by a
man in one of his pictures. Of course, he's one of our brothers, a
faithful servant of Jehovah holding one of our Brochures, the title
escapes my mind at the moment.
The photograph got me thinking about people. What's going to go
through the minds of all the people who have seen us over the years at
the moment they realize they should have listened? At the moment they
recognize that we had news of salvation all along but now it's too late?
Is it going to be like those movies where they show the person's life
flashing before their eyes, except with memories of the opportunities
to hear the truth that they dismissed? Or are they going to call back
to mind all the cynical thoughts they had about us every time they
passed us on the street? What feelings will this realization evoke?
anger? resentment? regret? desperation?
Or maybe that feeling one gets when their life is no longer in their
hands, like what one experiences when going through a car crash. Heart
pumping, adrenaline rushing through your veins as your brain injects
the chemical and within seconds it has penetrated every organ, and
your body goes numb as you try to stay aware of your existence and
hold on to what bit of consciousness you have.
Maybe, or maybe it will just be hopelessness. Maybe they'll all feel
like they've missed the boat, and retract into their distractions
hoping they can elude destruction by not paying attention to it, as
they have been doing all along.
Whatever the case may be, this photo really reminds me that we are
seen, even if we are not heard.

Many I believe, truly think that total adherence to every GB teaching or command is not totally obligatory. Wait till they say the wrong thing to the wrong person. Same as field service. Many feel that it is totally thier best effort and that suffices. I became inactive during a very trying time in my life and when I asked an elder that has many years of experience who was at my door, what constituted my standing as one of Jehovah's Witnesses (the question was asked because of the way I felt because of the way I was being treated in the congregation and I believe he understood what I was asking) his answer was, well you haven't reported field service for over six months, which to me was equating my standing before Jehovah with my field activity. He did in no way make an effort to comfort me, suggest a way to get back on track or otherwise help me. It really was part of my wake up call to get me to where I am today. Out. So I truly believe that many who are still in have no real clue of how they could be treated or viewed simply because they have not run into the situation that brings it to the fore.

New Light - July 15, 2008 SE of the WT - Sower and Seed - another angle
by independent_tre ini've seen the topic where they try to explain invisible growth, but something else about this wt magazine stands out.
if this isn't adulterating the word of god, i don't know what is.
the wts has done it again and managed to usurp jesus' position and interject themselves into his place.

don't know if anybody cares anymore but more than "some in christemdom" said it was Jesus.
*** w50 12/1 pp. 481-482 Parable of the Sower ***
Parable of the Sower
THE parable of the sower is found in the gospel accounts of the disciples Matthew, Mark and Luke. Matthew’s history of Jesus Christ introduces it this way: "On that day Jesus, having left the house, was sitting by the sea; and great crowds gathered to him, so that he went aboard a boat and sat down, and all the crowd was standing on the beach. Then he told them many things by illustrations, saying: ‘Look! a sower went out to sow: and as he was sowing, some seeds fell alongside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. Others fell upon the rocky places where they did not have much soil, and at once they sprang up because of not having depth of soil. But when the sun rose they were scorched, and because of not having root they withered. Others, too, fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them. Still others fell upon soil that was right and they began to yield fruit, this one a hundredfold, that one sixty, the other thirty. Let him that has ears listen.’"—Matt. 13:1-9, NW.
4 It is true that John the Baptist proclaimed, "Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near," but his proclamation did not reveal the sacred secret that the followers of God’s anointed King would have the opportunity to enter into the kingdom of the heavens with him to rule as kings. Jesus, and not John the Baptist, was the one who uncovered the secret: "Unless anyone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. . . . Unless anyone is born from water and spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John 3:3, 5, NW) (NOTE) So Jesus is primarily the sower,(NOTE) and God gave him the seed of the Word of the Kingdom to sow. But Jesus takes his faithful followers into the sowing work with him, and through him they receive the Word of the Kingdom to scatter. That is why the apostle says to them: "Now he that abundantly supplies seed to the sower and bread for eating will supply and multiply the seed for you to sow and will increase the products of your righteousness." (2 Cor. 9:10, NW) Since A.D. 1914, the year when the "appointed times of the nations" ended, the seed has been the message of God’s kingdom as born or set up. -

Re: Family Study... both parents report time Hi, I agree it takes much more time than one hour every week. I have a baby 11 months old. I try everyday to make him sit and listen as I read bible story book to him. Believe me.. it is really tough. I only wonder will things get better as he grows up or will it become more difficult for me to make him sit and study. Rgds,
