To Christmas or Not to Christmas (inspired by Watersprout's DA thread)
by Mad Sweeney inmy wife and kid want to do christmas but i don't.
i am not against it but i have no reason to celebrate the holiday.
i'll get the kid some presents, and maybe my wife, but is that alone really "celebrating christmas?

depending on how you celebrate apparently it is not even a no-no for witnesses *** g04 7/8 p. 30 From Our Readers ***
However, if it is very obvious that a custom has no current false religious significance and involves no violation of Bible principles, each Christian must make a personal decision as to whether he will follow such a custom. -

good comments - would like to hear more. This whole article sticks in my craw a little bit, seeing how almighty they make themselves in the deciphering of everything. they want to be the final arbiter in all things. *** g03 9/22 p. 22 The Piñata-An Ancient Tradition *** The Piñata-An Ancient Tradition

Piñatas I read with interest the article "The Piñata-An Ancient Tradition." (September 22, 2003) It left me with some questions. The ties to false religion are well-documented. But the article seemed to take the position that as long as it doesn't bother someone's conscience, it is OK. What about birthdays and holidays such as Christmas?
S. W., United States
"Awake!" responds: Christians refrain from any celebrations or customs that continue to involve false religious beliefs or activities that violate Bible principles. For example, the Bible definitely puts birthday celebrations in a bad light. (Genesis 40:20; Matthew 14:6-10) However, if it is very obvious that a custom has no current false religious significance and involves no violation of Bible principles, each Christian must make a personal decision as to whether he will follow such a custom. -

Good point just a reader. I have come to the realization that the whole religious structure is like that. Everything is multilevel - multi-confusing. Pray for a truck load of litererature to get through a war torn area to brothers on the other side who will not/cannot survive without it and Jehovah heard the prayer and gave devine protection. The truck gets blown to bits and it is time and unforseen occurrence.

Also this is good - After Death-Heavenly Life? What, though, about the belief, held by
millions worldwide, that all good people go to heaven? It is true that some good people
shoud say we go there, but their number should say our number is small compared to the billions who have passed away in death. The Bible reveals that 144,000 people again, should say we will be "bought from the earth" and will serve as "priests" and "kings over the earth."
Guess I'm just havin fun with this tower. It really is awkward for them to speak in more than one person.

The faithful angels do not want us to call upon or pray to them. They understand
and cooperate with God's arrangement for prayer, which sometimes directly
involves them. Oops, no proof In what way? Well, when the prophet Daniel prayed to Jehovah about the desolation of Jerusalem, God answered Daniel's prayer by sending the angel Gabriel
with an encouraging message.-Daniel 9:3, 20-22.
Have the angels been sent by god with messages for any board members lately

*** w54 11/1 p. 671 Questions From Readers ***
Proverbs 16:4 (AS) states: "Jehovah hath made everything for its own end; yea, even the wicked for the day of evil." Does this mean that Jehovah makes men wicked, perhaps to fit some supposed predestination of his?-D. U., United States.
Jehovah does not create men wicked to fit in with the doctrine of predestination, for that doctrine is a false teaching. (See the May 15 and June 1, 1953, issues of The Watchtower.) And not for a day of evil nor for any other reason did Jehovah make the wicked. To argue so would be to contradict Deuteronomy 32:4, 5 (NW) and Ecclesiastes 7:29 (Le), which texts read: "The Rock, perfect is his activity, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness, with whom there is no injustice; righteous and upright is he. They have acted ruinously on their own part; they are not his children, the defect is their own. A generation crooked and twisted!" "Lo, this only did I find, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought for many (sinful) devices."It is cute how they say (See the May 15 and June 1, 1953, issues of The Watchtower.) as though this provides some kind of authoritative information. I realize this is done by them all the time but still I find it funny. Also it is just as easy to say Deuteronomy 32:4, 5 (NW) and Ecclesiastes 7:29 can't possibly mean that the Rock is perfect and just because to argue so would be to contradict proverbs.
