After you wake up, all the memories of events that should have made you wake up earlier flood back into mind.

“Do You Know the Time?” From WT Sept 2018
by skin inthere is a one page article in the current wt study mag, sept 2018 pg 22 with the title “do you know the time?”.
in that article it describes a number of different ways you can say the time is 1:30. it goes on to say “there are even places where that same time could be expressed as “half two,” meaning 30 minutes before two”.
what i would like to know is this, where in the world does “half 2” mean 1:30?

What I would like to know is this, where in the world does “half 2” mean 1:30? Here in New Zealand, when we say “half 2”, we are saying that the time is 2:30. A shortened way of saying “half past 2”.

Seven Generations
by Ultimate Axiom inby chance i came across a watchtower of june 1, 2015, and it has an article in it, “a legacy that has lasted seven generations”.
it’s written by a guy called kevin williams and it starts with this ancestor thomas williams (1815-1891) and continues his story down to the present through his family.
but hold on a minute, how can this guy’s twelve relatives span seven generations?

Vidiot - After all, being an active, dutiful JW isn't actually the easiest or most pleasant lifestyle.
Correct, but at a recent WT meeting, we were told that Jehovah's Witness's are the happiest family on earth.
Who are we going to believe? Our imperfect thinking and reasoning, or the information that is lovingly provided to us from the GB as spiritual food?

Great tribulation
by dothemath inyou've likely heard all this before, but i had to laugh (silently) at the public talk today.. he focused on how close we are to the end.
we're not only in the last days, but we're in "the final part" of the last days.. also, we are nearing "the end of the final part of the last days".
he didn't read any scriptures backing up how the last days are broken up like this.. i went today since relatives es were visiting, but it was more entertaining than usual.. as well, the gb isn't warning us about armageddon, rather they're mainly warning about the great tribulation, which is "very, very, close!

The sad thing about is many people leave the religion but the religion never leaves them
That is true, and come to think of it, that is probably the reason most of us come here...

An old JW friend of mine from the 1990's moved away and left WT (rumor had it for not accepting some teachings), I had not seen or heard of him for more than 15+ years, but at this last convention I spotted him in the crowd sitting not to far away from where I was. Then to impact on the shock of seeing him there, he turned out to also be an attendant.

One must remember, these Governments are SATAN'S tools.
Yes, and dont forget to remain loyal to jehovah's organization, you dont want to loose out on your reward. Jehovah's enemies will try anything to rob you of that reward. So please brothers, remain loyal in the face opposition.

Those awkward magazines
by Addison0998 ini’m sure we all remember those really weird, awkward magazines we were expected to place in service.
and it was before we are had the website or the thing on the back to fall back on.
imagine being a 12 year old girl, and having to place magazines on god’s view of pornography, sex, homosexuality.

I remember being on the TMS and given a talk slip on those subjects. Had to make those talks last 5 minutes back then. Thanks WT, that sped up my decision to ask to be removed from the TMS. I dont miss it one bit.
