  Since the average JW is not able to verify this statement from the 1969 Awake, it is easier to dismiss this it as a lie, and then forget about it. Beside's, we are now living that much closer to the end, that we should be faithfully following the GB's warnings about how close we are to it now. No time to think about a career in this system of things...

  i had a look in the library last meeting and my hall still has all the bound volumes going right back to the beginning.

  including studies in the scriptures.

  i thought the order from on high was that these were to be destroyed or taken away?

  Before our rebuild, on one of the weekend cleaning rosters, we did a sorting of any double ups of books in the library to make room for newer books, The elder in charge that day said I could have these extras for my own personal collection. They were mainly WT volumes from the 60's.

  Which are now all boxed up in my shed, LOL.

  Our KH had an impressive collection of the older books once. It covered one entire wall in the same room that TMS 2 was held in, and there were more boxes of books stored away in the the KH shed that weren't on display. Then came a rebuild of our hall, and now one devoted room to be called the Library. I was looking forward to this, with plently of room for all these books to now go on shelves. When our new hall was completed, a visit to the new library was the first thing I did, and guess what, not one book to be seen. I was shocked and disappointed, (maybe they havn't set up this room yet?) there was now a large table with about 8 chairs in the middle of this room and a laptop with printer on another table. Also a lot of empty cupboard’s (some locked), and in the end 2 cupboards were about 20 of the most recently released books. I hope the impressive library of books we once had have not been throw out. Hopefully they are boxed away in the KH shed waiting for the time that one day they will be available for all to read again.

  dallas, oct. 23, 2014 /news.gnom.es/ six young adults, from north texas, all sexually abused as children, filed suit today in dallas, texas state court against three north texas jehovahs witnesses congregations (dallas, plano, and greenville), the watchtower bible and tract society of new york, and an elder.. sexually abused when they were ages 4 through 14, the plaintiffs were children of members of the dallas, plano, and greenville jehovahs witnesses congregations.

  the suit states that they were repeatedly sexually abused and molested by an elder and an unknown regional circuit overseer, and that they and their families were threatened with discipline and harm if they disclosed the abuse to anyone.

  at the international convention last week i caught up with my old congregation and asked about the young ones...there were 2 answers.

  1. they flat out left got a boyfriend etc.

  and 2. havent seen them for awhile meaning they faded or went off the grid so as not to be disfellowshipped.

  Drying up here in NZ too. When I joined as a teenager our congregtion had a lots of young ones, now only about 1 in 3 (or less) of these are still going to meetings.

  Convention Stadium is double booked?

  this would have been interesting.

  our convention is this coming weekend (17th - 19th oct) and is being held at the forsyth barr stadium, dunedin, new zealand.

  at the same time our nz rugby itm cup is having its semi final round.

  This would have been interesting. Our convention is this coming weekend (17th - 19th Oct) and is being held at the Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin, New Zealand. At the same time our NZ rugby ITM cup is having its semi final round. Now if the Dunedin home team (Otago) were to host this semifinal, it would have been played at the Forsyth Barr Stadium on the same weekend as the convention. According to the Stadium Management "A window had been secured before the convention was booked to have the ground free for a game to be played at the covered stadium. It was expected to be played on the afternoon or evening of Saturday, October 18". The interesting thing about this is that the convention program for Saturday finishes at 7pm leaving no time to set up for a rugby game that day.

  The Otago rugby team have not make it to the semifinals, if they had it would have made for some interesting fast planning to be made to host both these events at the same time in the same stadium.

  Looks like Jehovah made sure that Otago did not make it to the ITM cup rugby semifinals.
