Why 'defining evil' is fruitless
by Shining One ini think that terry's answer to his own question about 'defining evil' is incorrect.
you do not even need to define evil when you have an absolute truth to go by.
you can go through a lot of speculation in order to define evil.

Judeo-Christian civilization has freed hundreds of millions from tyranny, punished and destroyed truly evil governments and their leaders, brought millions out of poverty and freed just as many from superstition and ignorance.
Are you daft? That must be the most ridiculous thing I've heard anyone say on this forum.
Judeo-Christian civilization (at those which claimed to be exclusively Christian) have enslaved, committed genocide upon, forced superstition and ignorance upon, and forced into poverty countless peoples. It is by no means an exception to anything.

If you live life as if there is no tomorrow you could disrupt your relationship w/ God.
So living life as if there is no today is more pleasing to God?
That's sad.

DF'ing: Why shun child, but not spouse?
by AlmostAtheist inthe bible has precious little to say about shunning.
write a scripture on each finger and you'll still have one clean hand.. but the watchtower has managed to read into it a myriad (are non-jw's allowed to say "myriad"?
) of rules about who to shun, how much, under what circumstances, etc.. one that caught me sideways a day or so ago was the fact that a wife with a df'd husband doesn't have to shun him.

Because husbands are more powerful than God.

Have you ever asked them if you could tag along? Maybe they could help you find a girl.
With all due respect, you can't expect people to make all your decisions for you. Everyone's different and no one cal tell you exactly how to run your life. That's something that you need to find out on your own.

But there is one token black on the governing body, Samuel Herd. Doesn't that sound like integration to you?
More like affirmative action.

Being white people are actually a global minority, it's funny that Jehobah would pick a bunch of old crackers to run his organization.

Tetra,
I'm not into bioinformatics, but it sounds fascinating.
Right now I'm doing multimedia/computer forensics and hope to get into marine biology within the next couple semesters. In other words, I'm all over the place. I guess that gives me more options once I graduate. My current major(s) sounded good when I registered, but now I'm not so sure. I'd probably have to relocate to find a job in those fields.
