That applies to many fundamentalists.

TOP TEN SIGNS THAT YOU ARE AN UNQUESTIONING JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
by nicolaou in10- you vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of your god - jehovah.. .
9- you feel insulted and 'dehumanized' when scientists say that people evolved from lesser life forms, but you have no problem with the biblical claim that we were created from dirt.. .
8- you laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in multidues of demons, angels, cherubs etc.. .

I have that problem, but it is because I need more RAM. Could that be your problem?
Talesin,
I have 512MB of RAM and things usually download really fast. I don't know why I have a problem with torrents.
Someone suggested that my firewall was the problem, but disabling it made no difference. The site(s) in question were allowed in my firewall settings anyway.

high gas prices? bah!
by doogie ini have a cavalier that i fill up maybe once a week (usually less than that actually).
this week i paid .10 more a gallon than last week.
you know how much extra the rise cost me?.

umm...the gas is like $2.40, but it only cost me an extra 1.20 to fill up this week over last.
Why don't you try looking at the big picture and see how much more you're paying that you should be. You act like a few cents tacked on over and over doesn't add up.
Gas prices ARE high. A couple years ago I could fill my tank on $15. That's from E to F. Do you know how much I pay now?
At least 31 bucks every single week, and I own a coupe. That's an increase of $64 per month that could be used to pay my cable or credit card bill.
High gas prices?
You bet your ass.

Maybe I'm too picky, but I expect, for example, hamburger meat to be all red, not red wrapped around a core of grey.
The food section is sort of new at our Walmart, so maybe they're trying extra hard to get customers.
I will admit, the grocery area is the most busy part of the entire store. Even at 1am you have to fight to get down the aisles.
Coincidence?

.....always fun watching the red necked, inbred, trailer trash, obese pigs
Why is it that so many slovenly people congregate at Walmart?
What I REALLY hate is going to the checkout and getting stuck behind a combined-ton family who's slamming bag after bag of chips and box after box of Hostess cakes onto the conveyor.
One time I went there at night after having a couple drinks at Grotto's. We were third in line behind a rather huge woman and her rotund kids, and her cart was LITERALLY full of chips. The kids were eating candy bars there on the spot and held the half-empty rappers up to the casheir so she could scan them. I consider supporting this type of behavior child abuse.
I said, rather loudly, "Good Gawd. Look at all those chips! There's no excuse for someone that big buying that much junk food." The woman in front of us gave a snicker and the beast rolled her eyes as she pushed her cart of chips out the door.

And I don't buy meat products there as they just don't seem as fresh.
The meat always looks fresh at my local Walmart, but it's not the best quality.
I bought a pack of ribeyes a few months ago and they were tough as leather. That's the first time I've ever had a tough ribeye, and I can usually make any steak come out tender...not these.
I do buy Perdue chicken there from time to time since I know where it comes from.

I shop there because it's open 24 hours and I often can't sleep at night.
It's also convenient because they have everything under one roof. You don't have to go all over the place to get what you need, except for clothing. The only thing I wear from Wally World is socks and drawers.

Man Will Consume the Planet
by joelbear in.
man long ago left the natural order of things that keep the earth as a living habitat in balance and healthy.. he now manipulates the earth to make it bend to his wishes so that he can create paper (worthless profit), accumulate multiples of what he needs to survive and make himself as comfortable as he possibly can.. as the billions in the developing countries become more consumptive the world will eventually be used up.. that will be the true armageddon that mankind will face.

You're right, joel.
I used to think about this all the time. I used to scratch my brain and wonder WHY scientists are trying to make people live longer and become more fertile to produce more children. Aren't they even considering the future of the planet? People always say that our planet can hold so many more billions of people. This may be true, but can it sustain many more billions of people? If so, for how long? How will we have produce with no farm land? How will we have oxygen with no trees? The world will eventually become one big city.
But, I've since said the hell with it. It most likely won't happen in my lifetime, and there's nothing I can do to stop the ball from rolling. There's really nothing anyone can do aside from periodic human cullings or sterilization, and this would be the last resort.
