yesterday afternoon my older son, karl, who is studying musical production at brighton university, came round to see his family.

he had just been to see his pregnant girlfriend, who is staying with her mum and dad for a week.. karl is a wonderful boy; the type of son any parent would be proud of.

he is loving, considerate, respectful and has never once caused any trouble or been in any.

Next time a kid at school irritates the hell out of me im going to visualise him with a pair of pants on his head.

i've gotten the impression that gambling is not looked upon kindly by the 'tower.

Gambling was always a major no when I was in. JW's I knew wouldnt even accept a free ticket if it involved an element of chance and a prize. (our supermarket used to give away free tickets with purchases).

When I was a kid we used to go on holiday to Filey (a typical english seaside town) and my dad wouldnt let me play the penny arcades because it was gambling. Even though it was literally a penny you were betting on most of the games.

My partner plays poker over the internet for money and I still have a vague uneasiness about it, even though the most he risks is about $10.

Surely we should conduct a clinical trial. I suggest 60 volunteers from the site agree to be divided randomly into 3 groups. One group will eat Hormel spam, one group will eat another leading brand spam and a control group will eat, oh I dunno, pizzas. Each product will be eaten daily for a month, then we will have an apostofest and a team of psychologists will assess whether each person displays homosexual tendencies or not.

This is clearly a very important issue that I thnk the queens at Hormel will be willing to fund.

Ian fortunately most teenagers are not brain dead and violent, but unfortunately lots of them are brain dead and stupid. And you only need one violent one among a pack of stupid ones to create a terrible situation.

Thank god for the people who are still managing to have thinking caring socially minded children.

Dansk thats truly awful. Im so sorry for your son.

15 to 16 year olds - the pieces of shit. They are prolly still in school. In the stafffroom we call them feral. If I had my way I would round them up and put them down. They are never going to contribute anything to society, they have no social skills, and nothing to offer. I hope the police catch them. But a better result would be for a someone bigger to kick the living crap out of them because even a prison sentence would dignify them with warm clean beds, 3 meals a day and a safe environment.

I hope your son recovers physically and emotionally.
