Did you deliberately continue until you had a girl, or was is just random luck and you were going to have 5 kids anyway?

Ive got to be honest - I had a water birth and when I saw those huge bollocks coming towards me as they lifted the baby out of the water and onto my chest I thought DAMN DAMN BOLLOCKY DAMN!

Im told boys love their mums. Im sure this is the first little boy I will feel irrational love for, but girls are so pretty and lovely and ... and... sigh. I love girls. (In a having a child sense, not in a lesbian sense!!)

Shes having a girl? Im SOOOOOO jealous!

I know I should be totally in love with my little boy, but if im honest, every time I go shopping and see girl clothes, every time I see a baby girl and every time I hear of someone having a girl, I ache....

My favourite girl names are Chloe and Clover.

J names: Jesmine, Jonty, Jessica, Jaimie, Jayne, Janine, Jackie

I can laugh about it today, but....

yesterday was a crazy day!!

i woke up with a wicked migraine, took my meds, and went to work.

at noon, i took my husband to work and it was snowing like crazy...so i drove slowly...as i turned the corner, in the country, my car started to slide, and we did a complete circle, coming very close to hitting a hydro pole.

Oh god delilah I dont know how you managed to go to work with a migrane, even with the meds. The rest of the day sounds like it just added insult to injury!

Thank god you didnt have an accident when you went into a slide. I did a similar thing on a dual carriageway in Leeds once - fortunately all the cars were going REAL slow, so when they saw me start sliding everyone just stopped and watched me spin round real slow and slide towards a crash barrier. I was so lucky, the car stopped about a fingers width away from the barrier!

they say it's important that we fill out this form about emergencies... poor fools.

"hi, i have been meaning to tell you that the society is telling us to fill out an emergency form that the book study conductors have and return it to them in case of an emergency.they will then give us a brochure to have that will tell us where to meet and what to have in our bags so we can grab them and leave in a hurry.

When I was a kid I was always told that we would be able to hide in the Kingdom Hall during Armageddon. In fact, one brother told me that the KH didn't have windows so that we wouldn't have to look at the horrible destruction and dead bodies at Armageddon.

That is sick and it sucks. What an evil thing to scare a kid with.

This makes me so ANGRY because I lived my childhood in total FEAR of being tortured and persecuted due to paranoia like this. I used to have dreams about the great tribulation and all the terrible things that would happen, death and destruction. Its no way to bring up a child.

do you find that most of the ones you grew up with left?

i looked around while still active and saw numbers dwindling from my generation.

i pioneered while in late teens/early twenties and several from my class that were friends of mine left years ago.

Virtually everyone in my peer group has left. When I was a teenager there was a group of 15 of us - there are 3 left in.

What kind of a form? What kind of a bag? Does it have CoolAid in it?

Honestly, I HATE this paranoia they are manufacturing, they are not survivalists. I had a gutful of making bean filled toys when I was a kid so we;d have something to eat in the great tribulation when THEY came to get us. It was terrifying.

It seems like most peoples parents just used this as an excuse to get rid of music they didnt like.

On a related topic, there was a ministereal servant in our congo who got tickets to go and see Phil Collins in concert. The elders told him he couldnt go and would be removed as a mini if he did. The issue went all the way up to the DO to discuss whether he was allowed to go or not.

As I remember I think the DO said he could go, but the elders were still opposed and put some kind of stipulation on it that if he did go he would lose some piviledges.

It was in the days before it was usual for people to go and see performers in concert, so it was a pretty rebellious thing to do at the time.
