I feel for you, I had reconstructive foot surgery 2 weeks ago on my right foot and I'm down for at least another 2 weeks. There's only so many books you can read, only so much t.v. to watch and only so much time on the computer. It gets to you after a while. Try to get out of the house and spend some time with your brother.
Good Luck, I hope you recuperate quickly.

Did you or ex-spouse apologize for divorcing you because of the j.w. cult?
by hubert inhas anyone on this board that ended up in divorce (mainly) because of j.w.
problems, ever received an apology from their ex for divorcing them because of religious differences?.
like, maybe that since the divorce the ex got out of the org and realized that they were wrong to divorce you at that time?.

Hey Hubert,
How are you? I was the one to divorce my then wife of 15yrs. We had a very tumultuous marriage. It was because of her JW mindset as well as other things as to the reason for the divorced. There was no apology from either one of us. About 8 years after the divorce she called me at work and wanted to talk to me. She wanted to know why I divorced her, so I told her. I figured after all the time that went by, she would be able to "get real " with herself. Unfortunately, she was still the same person as when I left the marriage. She continued to blame me for the divorce and not accept her part in it. She was never one for appologies. She would never accept responsibility for her actions and blamed others for them. Her favorite saying was, " they made me act that way "

My story of abuse and disappointment.
by ackack ini was raised in as a jw, and got batpz at 16. i started pioneer at 18 and got married when i was 21. i was made an ms at 22, and was soon giving many parts.. my brother who was also a pioneer, eventually stopped, even stopped going to meetings.
he placed a doubt in my mind about 607. he simply told me to look at the kingdom come book appendix.. i looked at the material and was ablt to rationalize it in my mind as secular vs. biblical chronology (which is a gross oversimplification).
as well, i knew some things being done within the orginization didn't sit very well with me.

Hi AckAck. Welcome to the board.
I can also relate. The Witnesses are not prepared to deal with such an issue. They tell you to study harder, pray more, go out in service more, ask if you picked up any demonized items at a yard sale etc. ect. I was married for 15 years before I divorced her. The last straw came when I almost clocked her one. My fist ready to strike her face, when I caught myself and realized that if I ever did that, I would be the one to go to jail. So at that moment I told her that I was leaving her. She told me I better not because she would take me down with her when she commits suicide. I called the cops, yadda, yadda, yadda. 3 days later, she got her friends from the congregation to clean out the apartment. Eventually she went on to live with my mother. Go figure? Good witness girl who's husband left her, got all the support she needed. No one asked me why I divorced her. The abuse had been going on for years and years. Finally I was fed up. Those myriad of friends from the organization are all but a distant memory now. I never got any support from the elders or my family. However, I can say, that it does get better when your away from the situation and away from the witnesses. Glad you had the fortitude to leave.
Best of luck

When Did You Realize That You REALLY Were Going To Die?
by minimus inand not live forever on paradise earth?

I knew I was going to die if I stayed in that rotton witness marriage !!! So I divorced and realized life is for living. As a witness you are taught to just exist until Armageddon and then, have the real life on paradise earth. When I left the witnesses, I learned that death is a part of life. What happens when we die? I don't know, I'll find out when I get there. For now I try to honor myself and live a decent life.

Hi everyone I'm apostanator's wife---WOW a big blast from the past on this thread!!! My very first meeting before my total indoctrination into JW land was at the waltham, ma congregation of JW's. I remember Alan Montapoli and his wife and daughter, David and Marie Abboud (he was the biggest man I ever saw in person) and their daughter, Sharon Shields, the Rao's, Ellen Crowe (she reminded me of nancy drew if I'm remembering this all correctly, the blind guy (i forgot his name) and his wife who committed suicide and many more whose names escape me.
I also knew quite a few from revere, ma congregation: Dan Gjika and his whole family, the Jannuzzi clan, Joe Aleo, Joe Paci and his family, Ed Dowd, and how about the Renaud family? and also the Nicol's to name a few.
I knew a few from gloucester,ma--the Larkins come to mind and right now. I can't think of a whole lot else--It's wierd because at one time these people all meant something to me and now really I can't be bothered, but at times I'm very curious of what they are doing now and if any of them entertain the thought of leaving JW land.
Please respond if any of these names ring a bell.

I was in the same hall as gerry montipoli ( hyde park ) and Minimus, I Luv Ya, cause you say it as it is. He thought his sh*t didn't stink. Alan went to hyde park for a while and I always wondered why Jane had dark circles under her eyes, she tried to cover them up with make up, but I could see right through it.
I worked for gerry one summer and talk about dr jeckel and mr hyde, this guy was nearly impossible to work for. One hot summer day, a brother and I were digging a trench to lay cable on one of gerry's sites, it was so hot, we took 5 minutes to lean on our shovels to catch our breath. Gerry comes tearing out of his air conditioned trailer and starts yelling at us because we were not doing the job correctly. He grabs the shovel out of my hand and says " now watch how I do it ". Well, you see we were standing next to gerry on the side that he had his glass eye, so we backed away from him and watched him dig for a couple of minutes, when he got tired, he went to hand the shovel back to me.We weren't there !!! Ya, we're digging for over 5 hours and he comes out of his air conditioned trailer dug for 5 minutes . The look on his face was priceless. We laughed our asses off.
By the way, my wife was from Waltham,Newton and Revere, she's sleeping right now but I'll show her the post. I'm sure she has things to add.

Confrontation times 2, My lovely weekend ahead. Any thoughts .......
by run dont walk inwell, my life is about to change over the next week, the anxiety is running high, and the adrenaline is going full blast, i hope i make it .... just a reminder of what has happened ... last summer my wife went to ontario and stayed with her sister, at the time me and her were not doing to well, and while she was there she screwed around on me, and her sister laughed about it.
it's been 11 months, i've did the counselling, and i've tried to forgive her, but i'll tell you all something ...... "it just eats at you everyday, no matter how hard you try.".
so i arrive on saturday, and day 1 will be taking care of this guy, i just hope i don't k--l him and spend the rest of my life in jail.

I know your pain and anguish. My ex-wife cheated on me with a close " friend " of mine. When she came home after a weekend with him, she looks at me and says " You can divorce me now " !!! They had something going on behind my back. Man, I was made a fool of. One night I had a few drinks and a couple pills and I was off to his apartment with my knife and bat. I was going to mess him up bad !!! However I stopped over my mothers house on my way to his place and she talked some sense into me. She didn't want me to be in jail while the two lovebirds were roaming around free.
That guy never knew how close he was to getting messed up. It took a while, but I have learned that you can't make anyone be with you if they don't want to, wife or not. I took care of the problem, I divorced her and went my seperate way. That was ten years ago and I am a much better person now. Please don't do anything foolish, you don't want to put yourself in any more anguish.
