  Stock Market and The Elder

  i had some money to invest back around 1999. an elder from my old congregation worked at morgan stanley, he recomended to me a stock named delphi.

  this was a relatively new issue back then and he said it was a good stock with a good dividend.

  i did not buy it because my gut feeling was telling me that he was pushing the stock and was in it for the commision.

  I had some money to invest back around 1999. An elder from my old congregation worked at Morgan Stanley, he recomended to me a stock named Delphi. This was a relatively new issue back then and he said it was a good stock with a good dividend. I did not buy it because my gut feeling was telling me that he was pushing the stock and was in it for the commision. Anyway, today the trading in Delphi was halted on the New York stock exchange it went below a buck. This ass of an elder said it was a good buy when he tried to sell it to me at $20.00 per share!!! Man.....The longer I'm out, the more I trust my gut !!!! I guess, buyer beware even from a so called friend.

  BrendaCloutier e-mailed me the scans of the Documents with the Watchtower having ownership in Philip Morris. ( Altria ) You may want to instant message her and see if she'll do the same for you. Also if you want, I can try to forward on that information to you by e-mail. Just I.M. me with your e-mail adress. ( funny how the organization will dis-fellowship you for smoking but the damn hypocrits can own stock in the same cigarette company that provides cigarettes for these people to smoke who get dis-fellowshiped )

  i find it funny and sad that the watchtower is pursuing internet sites to be shut down and to stop showing their articles, due to copyright laws.. i thought the goal of the watchtower was to preach the good news of the kingdom in all the inhabited earth and then the end will come.. apparentll not, with the recent lawsuit against the quotes site, i'm wondering if ebay is on their list, you can buy just about any publication from 1900-1950, and buy it fairly cheap i might add.

  hhhhhhhhhmmmmm, maybe they will sue them to for distributing old publications for people to read.. what's next ????????.

  The life saving truth is only supposed to be dispensed by those who are qualified. They wouldn't want the good news of the kingdom to be preached in all the inhabited earth before the end comes by unqualified people. Who else would they expect to explain why armagedon didn't come in 1975? Ask 10 Qualified Jehovah's Witnesses why it didn't come in 1975 and you'll get 10 different answers.

  am i backwards on this?

  i work with people and ex husbands who profess to love god, and all the while when they are angry they ask for god's help to forgive people.

  In my opinion, asking for forgiveness without saying your sorry as well as stopping or changing the offending act, is like doing whatever you want without being accountable for it.

  Elders = Amateur Lawyers | Case Study Marriage Separation - Society scolded

  while serving as an elder we had a sister who was moving to another congregation in conjunction with separating from her husband.. another brother and i had been working with them for many weeks and were asked to send a letter to the new congregation, commenting on the situation and scriptural validity of the separation.. the situation was that she claimed he was endangering her and cited one physical incident where she hid behind a door and playfully jumped out to scare him, he reacted by striking out with his arm and hit her in the shoulder.

  she admitted he was very sorry about the incident, but she suspected he somewhat did it on purpose.

  she also brought up several situations in there marriage of him not taking the lead and weird behavior.

  Geez confused jw, now I know why you picked your name! It is hard to keep up with all their crazy rules. Just when you think you've got it, they blindside you from left field. I still don't understand. I've got a jw brother who is married but for the last 10 years he has been living in Massachusetts and his wife has been living in Rhode Island. He still wears his wedding ring but they are never together. Go figure. Perhaps the new system will change his living arrangement.
