Pipe bomb at Bethel.
by Etude indoes anyone remember the incident that happened back in the summer of 1974 at what was called the "squibb" building at bethel where a pipe bomb detonated at one of the doors just under the bridge that spanned the complex across columbia heights?
i was at bethel at the time and i even have a picture of two nypd cops standing in front of the scene the day after (if i can only find the picture).
i was thinking of posting it on this forum but i don't know how.

I also read an article on this having happened. I think it was in the New York Times. A Watchtower magazine article once mentioned about an incident that occurred in Australia in a hall. Apparently an angry fireman did it and was put in prison. I think one person lost their life and another one or two were severely injured.On this website itself via search over a period of years you will probably find a couple other threads discussing newspaper articles in which it speaks of persons such as irate youths acting against halls. I think in one incident an angry young girl rode by a hall on a bicycle and tossed a device that injured the building some but no one was inside at the time and she was caught. In other cases they were not caught.
I think another case involved fire possibly set by a parent of a child molested by an elder but that this was not established. Quite a few halls have been set on fire, also maybe related to Watchtower's elders being told to hush up pedophilia and the like.
Possibly a news service like the AP could help or Randy Watters or Bill Bowens may have some clippings or additional more concrete leads for you?

The statement appears in one of Watchtower's publications, an older yearbook if I recall correctly. The explanation that it gave for his request is that a Roman who had lived an honorable or moral life was entitled to die buried in a toga, the implication being that if he had not been moral he would not have been so entitled. Russell claimed he had had no sexual liason with any woman other than his wife Maria although others said to the contrary, so he was asserting at the end that he was not immoral.

As you say Judges have to go by the law of the land so they will surely understand if some choose to picket them outside their house or courthouses, and the same for the kingdom halls where these outrages go on. Americans do have the right to picket. It's called Freedom of Expression.
DANNY HAZARD, why not work with SHUNNED FATHER, Bill Bowen, Randy Watters and others to let more people know that though this shame goes on, it will not go on unheralded!

i am planning chartered buses from major centres in the eastern canada and usa.

Is College now wrong for Jehovah's Witnesses again?
by booker-t ini have been out of the jw's for many years now but i still have devout jw's family members.
and i am attending college now at 40 yrs old working on my ba degree.
i was so happy a few years ago when my jw mom told me that the wt is slacking off on telling jw's teenagers that college is bad and it is ok to attend college and universities.

Watchtower leaders had put in an article that it was okay to go to college for appearances sake for outside persons such as judges to read (ex. in child custody cases to make a JW parent's religion appear more reasonable and hence palatable) but that they did not really mean what they said was shown when immediately most Circuit Overseers blasted against it from the platform in the halls. (Not all but most all) Part of theocratic warfare strategy to fool "Watchtower's enemies."Similarly Watchtower leaders put in writing that voting was okay in order to fool government officials in other nations such as in East Europe that they actually felt regular Jehovah's Witness members could vote but from platform talks the Circuit Overseers showed the Watchtower Society was actually against it. This tactic of lying to "enemies" got them acceptance, meaning legal recognition as an entity entitled to tax breaks, I believe also in Germany and may yet in other lands such as Austria, if it hasn't already there too.
Regular members and government officials find it hard to believe any organization calling itself Christian lies and misleads. Such is the nature of a cult. The Aryan Nations extremists and maybe one other religous group does this type of tactic. I think Randy Watters could tell you which other group does so.
Also, there has been some striving among JW leaders at the top in Brooklyn as to which course to take on some things, that is to be more "progressive" or to continue to simply appear progressive while in fact leaving things to hardliners led by Ted Jaracz of the Governing Body who oppose reforms. Jaracz has been alleged a child molester going back to when he was a District Overseer in Los Angeles.
He likes to use Theocratic Warfare tactics and Watchtower's Service Department uses this too and especially since Ray Franz was booted out for wanting reforms in the early 1980s. Say one thing, do another. Whatever it takes to advance The Kingdom Of God On Earth. Theocratic warfare tactics can also help keep Teddy's ilk out of prison, indeed do so everyday.
