There was always talk around the congregation as to why someone was disfellowshipped, but I have learned since my disfellowshipping that the gossip going around wasn't true in some cases. I have seen in at least a few cases that when an abused woman is df'd, the story is that she committed adultery whether it is true or not.

This is very true. There are a lot of people that challenged the authority of the WTS with factual evidence, now sometimes they say apostasy, sometimes they make up lies. I heard a few about my DFs, when in actuality, they did it because I just was tired of the meetings and tired of listening to them talk about things I felt they had no credibility to discuss with authority. Over the years I have heard all kinds of lies, up to including with women who were raped and the woman was DFs and they would say it was because of her immorality. I could go on, but I think most of you know how it goes...

What To Say When Someone Says "If U Can Find A Religion That's Better......

"if you can find a religion that's better than jehovah's witnesses, let me know where i can find it".....i've heard jws say this in defense of "the truth" that they know is not 100% right.. what would you say to a witness that suggests that jehovah's witnesses are still better than all the others???

sitting here listening to the o'jays with my morning coffee, remenescing about my childhood and teen years and all the great african american friends i had.

I still hear the "I have a dream" speech and get chocked up with emotion. He was truly about all americans and people all over the world loving and interacting in peace and respect.

i can not describe the sadness of hearing him tell me, i asked him to think about what a great part time job he has, with free schooling.

he says they will probably take him back.

his abilities are suitable for closing down brooklyn, so at least he will be there (i love nyc).

I feel your pain Oompa, but aren't there more than few post-Bethel people on here right now? Maybe it is a blessing in disguise, as he will see "the truth" up close and the hypocrisy up close and personal, so maybe it will be the nudge that he needs to get out for good...

in the hall i used to attend i found alot of people had 'demon' stories, did you know anyone like this or have any run-ins yourself?

i personally think they were zealot delusions.

I actually believe that the JW is very involved in the occult (which in definition means "hidden"), but overt claims the opposite. I believe the JW to be a covert Luciferian arm. Just my opinion.

I do believe in the supernatural realm, but with a very logical explanation.
