i just recieved a "care package" from my mother (i'm inactive, haven't been to a meeting in a few months but haven't specifically said to her that i don't want to be a jw anymore) and in it, among other things, are 2 new brochures (one is simplified) called listen to god and live forever.. has anyone else seen these?

i think you can get them in pdf form on the jw.org website.

has anyone else noticed some of the weird pictures?

just finished reading the brochure..

and you're right, the pics take on a different meaning than the words in the magazine.

It's sad that they use material like this to pull the "bait-and-switch" with new followers.

but its just a steaming pile of non-sense just like most of their literature.

valderrama was reportedly embarrassed by her pregnancy and attempted to conceal it from her jehovah witness family, a deputy public defender said.. orange county prosecutor steve mcgreevy said valderramas baby boy drowned when she gave birth into a bathroom toilet on sept. 4, 2009.. there was a lot of bleeding and shock, and she unfortunately didnt act well and left the baby underwater for an extended period of time so that the baby could never get oxygen, said mcgreevy.. she eventually removed the baby from the toilet, wrapped his lifeless body, and put the baby in a wastebasket in her bedroom, mcgreevy said.. later that night, the defendants mother saw blood in the bathroom, found the discarded placenta and called police, who found the newborn in the trash can.. valderrama was taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed she had just given birth, according to prosecutors.. .

Valderrama was reportedly embarrassed by her pregnancy and attempted to conceal it from her Jehovah Witness family, a deputy public defender said.

Orange County prosecutor Steve McGreevy said Valderrama’s baby boy drowned when she gave birth into a bathroom toilet on Sept. 4, 2009.

What kind of people remain members and will serve the WTS to the end?

by RULES & REGULATIONS in

my family have been members of the wts since the 1980's.

they never went to college,don't read any books besides watchtower material,have no hobbies,don't have any friends besides witness "friends",worked manual labor jobs all their lives,never questioned anything the wts changes,and have never looked into any other teachings besides the wts propaganda.

{ in other words: they are closed minded and not very inquisitive}.

man i luv u guys, reading this thread is like putting my feelings into words. im not an apostate, even tho technically i dunno what one is, all i know is that i do want more outta life, and for once i actually see things happening bcuz i make things happen and not sit around and pray for better times basically, there are mainly two types of ppl in the world, that is : pimps and hos. hos are the ones who take orders without questioning, content with what they are given and never try to better themselves. those are the type that watch things happen instead of making things happen. hos cant even look in a certain direction or else they are "out of pocket." if they talk to someone it MUST be about money or whatever their pimp's "campaign" is for that month. most of the time these are emotionally disturbed hos with issues, afterall the best way to distract and control someone is by fear, emotions, goals, desires and playing on their weaknesses. if u show someone a weakness in themselves and tell them u have the cure for it they will be eating out of the palm of ur hand...even if u made their weakness up out of thin air. that exact same principle is used in seduction, religion, politics, at work and pretty much anywhere else a person can hang something over someone elses head.

any jw knows that one of the very bad things that a christian must not do is accepting a blood transfusion.

respect for the sanctity of blood ranks highest, in jw theology, on the scale of christian standards, along with not being a murderer, an adulterer, a robber, etc.

in fact, it is the identifying feature of jws for the onlooker.

this is the exact reason why i stopped attending meetings, the "grey areas". i think its uncalled for anytime elders call a judicial meeting bcuz someone chooses life over death. personally i cant say that someone who is involved with a blood xfusion is as bad as a liar, murderer, or theif... recently a 22yr old sister had a set of twins, 3 days later she died bcuz she refused a blood xfusion. ppl at her hall were saying they couldnt believe "with all the medical advancenents, they still couldnt save her life." thats such a retarded thing to say, bcuz the treatments were available but she refused them. i bet if she knew she wouldnt have been disfellowshipped for it, she would still be alive today. i think she would be able to manage her conscience, it would pay off when her twins take their first steps, say their first words, give their first presentation, get baptized etc... im just sayin that i wish ppl were able to make up their own minds without any outside or inside influence or pressure. i dont see anything wrong with anyone dying for what they believe in as long as it helps them enjoy life to the fullest,be fruitful and become many.
