Probably told that he could rent the rooms from the WT that they had gotten complimentarily . And since the rooms belong to the org (were given to them in exchange for a certain number of bookings) that the rooms they are renting through the ORG need to be PAID TO THE ORG, since w sure know there are no needy widows, orphans or single parents that could use an authentically free room.

My aunts small cong merged with another small one in her KH (that had 6 congs and now has 5). There are rumors that two others will merge soon. That will make meetings on Sundays easier, Iguess!
My moms KH has 3 congrgations. I don't know the size. She is in an affluent area and it is about 10 miles from nearest hall. I will say that I have not seen a lot of new KH's. Or any. Today we drove by a KH that has always been on a route from visiting my aunt. It is in a small town in the mountains. It used to be kept up, landscaped and looked cheerfull. Now it is still a KH, but other than the storefront ones with bars that I saw in the projects in the Bronx, it was about the saddest looking hall I ever saw. Weeds abounded in the parking lot, the paint looked dull on the building and the sign. You could practically see tumbleweeds blowing through. This is an area with a lot of hispanic families and I doubt any close KH's. Not affluent. It was a beautiful day and everything else looked enchantingly beautiful (mountains of W. Washington on a sunny day in may-stunning!) but that place looked like it was cursed by an evil witch. It looked gloomy and had no businss doing so on such a beautiful day.

Why do Christian nations think they can assimilate Muslims into their communities , does Islam attempt to assimilate Christians in their communities ?
by smiddy inislam /muslims today are what christianity was centuries ago , the two beleif systems are like oil and water , not to be mixed .
christians are not tolerated spreading their infectious disease amongst muslims, in islamic countrys , and harsh penalties apply for them doing so in muslim countries , including the death penalty.
stonings , whippings etc.. on the other hand christian nations are very tolerant of muslim extremists who incite hatred and violence on their own territory , and they get a slap on the wrist and say dont do it again .

Humanity has gone through some interesting stages. Historically, religion has been used by some tocontrol and manipulate others. I don't think that all Christians today (of any sect)wish to identify with the Christians who participated in the Crusades, the Inquisition, Witch Hunts, Holocaust---and yet many would just label those folks as "Christians". We can address atheists and discuss communism in the USSR, China, etc. HOWEVER, not all Christians are those people or those "kind"of people.
You don't judge the entire faith by certain ones in it ifthey are Christian.
I am Muslim and am NOT alQueada or Boko Haram. I am not even particularly sectarian-I am simply Muslim. I am not political about it and I see how people who want power use it to manipulate. I see how weak powerless people use it to bully. I see how cultural ideas predating ANY currnt religion have flourished among people who were basically living a near stone age life until a generation ago. Ignorance of religion and the world in general abounds.
I know educated and modern Muslims and the world they want for their children and yours. I was in Egypt over the last 4 years. I lived there for part of it. I taught Muslim teenagers and lived with Muslim families. They are very human and also humane. They come from different situations and different places and different cultural traditions. Some overseas don't accept differences any better than you all.
My faith is very humane. So was what Jesus taught. What men have done with both religions-not so much.

body piercings and tattoos are a permanent reminder of a very brief time in our lives when they are the proof that we are 'independent thinkers' and not bound to what mommy/daddy wants. The cowboy can take off the boots, the hat and put on a tshirt and he is a blank slate. Once you mutiate yourself,it's hard to go back from it.

Coffee Appreciation
by FL_Panthers inas i'm making my seventh cup for the day, i thought it would be a good idea to have an appreciation thread.
what's the best ground coffee?
beans?.

7th cup? I fear contributing to your addiction! I just get a Starbucks a day (tall-venti,depending on if I share with hubby), keep the mess out of my kitchen and call it good! (I don't know how to make coffee, so I just drink tea at home. No one outside knows how to make tea, so I never drink tea outside.)
I used to like Yuban. McDonalds makes a good cup in a pinch, but I will get dunkin donuts coffee even if I am not eating a donut! (btw, plain cake ones are the best with a cup of black or regular)

So, are the brochures that are prepared for the backwater of Sindh designed to get folks in trouble for blasphemy now? That area has a LOT of Christians. Pakistani Muslim people get along well with Christians/Hindus generally, and that state/district is really not prone to this kind of thing. I just recently visited the area, so I am not just talking with no inside information. My nephew is a city official in Mirpurkhas. Many of the employees there are Christian, so I wonder about the rest of the story-That area of Sindh is NOT a hotbed of Islamists. Most Muslims are barely practicing, from what I observed.

"Honour" Killing in Pakistan
by cofty in25 year old farzana iqbal was stoned to death by a crowd led by her own father and two of her brothers outside the high court in lahore yesterday.. her crime was to reject her cousin, who her family had decided she should marry, and fall in love with a man of her own choosing.. thousands of women are murdered every year in so-called "honour killings" but convictions are very rare.
pakistani law permits victim's families to forgive a murderer, but in these cases the killers are family members who are nominated to carry out the execution by the rest of the family.. this is what happens when you allow a mysogynistic religion to influence secular law.. reuters report...l.
