I never knew all the beatitudes, just that the meek would inherit the earth. They made that passage all about their agenda and I never had a sense of what jesus was talking about. Still irritates me. Bible believers, my foot! The bible is a tool to push their agenda.

Scripture fatigue
by New day ini wondered why i felt so fatigued over many years from hearing the same things again and again at the meetings.
even the scriptures become too familiar.
a few days ago i quickly read through all the gospels and realised i knew all the verses in detail.

The nursing staff I worked with were less convinced that no one caught flu from nasal spray vaccines. Two pediatric nurses thought the nasal spray was better than nothing, but they'd never give to their own children because of their professional observations.
I'm very in favor of going to a double needle clinic for immunizations. Since they can't feel it, your kids won't get hysterical at the idea of immunizations.

I just found out that my youngest brother committed suicide
by SnakesInTheTower inmy middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.
our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.
he hung himself.

I worked with a company that gIve out thousands of flu shots. I hear it all. Inactive flu viruses(injections) can't give the flu. The mist can. It's live flu virus.
You cant get the flu from the shot. You can get the same kind of site reaction that children do when they get their shots. Make you fussy for a day or two? That's not the flu! Your kids aren't getting measles from immunization, but they may be sore and cranky for a day or 2.
Flu shots can't protect you from previous exposure. If you get the real flu within 2 weeks of shot, you were going to get it anyway. Last year's shot was not very effective. This year's seems to be better. The flu shot is preventive, not a guarantee.
I got my shot this year, plus tdap. I always have a day of yuk site reaction from flu shot. The tdap was awful. Arm hurt for almost a week. My entire family was coming down with a cold, but I got the mildest version, so the flu shot didn't disadvantage me. They are all young and healthy and I'm not. Go figure. I think that was just luck.
Your experience may vary, but you won't get the flu from the flu shot. You could get an allergic reaction. If you have ever had a serious reaction to a shot then you likely shouldn't get another unless you know the issue and eliminated it. Two yuk days are not the flu. Google what the flu actually is. It's serious and can be deadly.
My suggestion is not to give the mist to your kids. They can get ithe flu, albeit infrequently, from it. If you go to a good clinic that uses two needles, one to draw the vaccine into the syringe and another to inject, the needle is not dull and likely they won't even feel it. Don't dramatize immunization process. The least drama they get the less the will give. In clinics, usually the parents are the problem.

Elder harassed my mom and asked for donation
by kaik inmy mom had surgery last month and she developed complication and had to be on antibiotics to treat infection.
so, she is recovering slowly, but things was tough on her and she was not attending kh or went to assembly two weeks ago.
nonetheless, elder showed up at her place and instead providing her with comfort he started to harass her that her faith is weak, she does not put trust in jah, etc.

Ray was no dummy. I think the whole story would be interesting as he hints at more in c.o.c., but I'm glad he was bright enough to cover his hiney.

I think the legal consequences are fair even after all these years. That he was dfd even.
I hope that he has been changed and is truly remorseful and didnt do it again.
Had he been remorseful and repentent to his victim decades ago, both their lives would not now be destroyed. There is repentence of some sort in every faith system. Also the concept of trying to make the victim whole. Even aA has the concept. Humans need it, both the perps and victims, for there to be any sense of closure or justice. Whether it involves legal system or not. Funny thing is the jw system would have still revictimized the victim and protected the perp, while the worldly system would be more protective of victim. Had jws dealt with it then, they would be getting sued now, but had the justice system been involved, both people would have more likely not had shattered lives now . She'd get justice and he'd pay for his wrong and both then allowed to move forward.

Had this not come to the attn of worldly authorities, he would not have been df'd. Not reporting to elders means a regular jw is unrepentant. Not being caught out for 3 years means an elder is home free, normally, doesnt it?
