Elder harassed my mom and asked for donation
by kaik inmy mom had surgery last month and she developed complication and had to be on antibiotics to treat infection.
so, she is recovering slowly, but things was tough on her and she was not attending kh or went to assembly two weeks ago.
nonetheless, elder showed up at her place and instead providing her with comfort he started to harass her that her faith is weak, she does not put trust in jah, etc.

Malik, I hope your mum is soon well, and I hope she keeps her spunky nature when she's not broke and in pain. Remind her that JWs brag about the anonymous nature of donations. Maybe she can shove that point into the next shakedown session.
That point could be made to elders, area overseers and branch without naming names.
The only vote she has is with her wallet.

I saw attempted assassination of Reagan and pope j.p. I personally have been affected by two big eruptions in two parts of the world, several earthquakes and hurricanes, a revolution, a near shut down of Seattle in the 70s with years long unemployment while we went hunting, fishing and gardening to eat, not hobbies. I watched Challenger blow up and the wall fall. Iran, Iraq, gulf wars and huge tensions with IrAn while my family lived across the Persian gulf and husband worked on military base. 2008 financial meltdown, dude, I lived in the Bronx and was in a subway car that had a gunman in it-1987-it didn't make the news, even
Humanity muddled through while individuals don't always. Try paying attention for 50 years and you will have a more realistic perspective.

Scripture fatigue
by New day ini wondered why i felt so fatigued over many years from hearing the same things again and again at the meetings.
even the scriptures become too familiar.
a few days ago i quickly read through all the gospels and realised i knew all the verses in detail.

I never knew all the beatitudes, just that the meek would inherit the earth. They made that passage all about their agenda and I never had a sense of what jesus was talking about. Still irritates me. Bible believers, my foot! The bible is a tool to push their agenda. -

The nursing staff I worked with were less convinced that no one caught flu from nasal spray vaccines. Two pediatric nurses thought the nasal spray was better than nothing, but they'd never give to their own children because of their professional observations.
I'm very in favor of going to a double needle clinic for immunizations. Since they can't feel it, your kids won't get hysterical at the idea of immunizations.

I just found out that my youngest brother committed suicide
by SnakesInTheTower inmy middle brother called me a couple of hours ago.
our youngest brother, josh, who was 38, was found by his friends in his apartment.
he hung himself.

I worked with a company that gIve out thousands of flu shots. I hear it all. Inactive flu viruses(injections) can't give the flu. The mist can. It's live flu virus.
You cant get the flu from the shot. You can get the same kind of site reaction that children do when they get their shots. Make you fussy for a day or two? That's not the flu! Your kids aren't getting measles from immunization, but they may be sore and cranky for a day or 2.
Flu shots can't protect you from previous exposure. If you get the real flu within 2 weeks of shot, you were going to get it anyway. Last year's shot was not very effective. This year's seems to be better. The flu shot is preventive, not a guarantee.
I got my shot this year, plus tdap. I always have a day of yuk site reaction from flu shot. The tdap was awful. Arm hurt for almost a week. My entire family was coming down with a cold, but I got the mildest version, so the flu shot didn't disadvantage me. They are all young and healthy and I'm not. Go figure. I think that was just luck.
Your experience may vary, but you won't get the flu from the flu shot. You could get an allergic reaction. If you have ever had a serious reaction to a shot then you likely shouldn't get another unless you know the issue and eliminated it. Two yuk days are not the flu. Google what the flu actually is. It's serious and can be deadly.
My suggestion is not to give the mist to your kids. They can get ithe flu, albeit infrequently, from it. If you go to a good clinic that uses two needles, one to draw the vaccine into the syringe and another to inject, the needle is not dull and likely they won't even feel it. Don't dramatize immunization process. The least drama they get the less the will give. In clinics, usually the parents are the problem.
