An elder bought my son a suit

i guess being two months old and coming to the kh in his onesee was kind of offensive .

As head of the household, you could tell your wife that you would prefer that she not accept gifts from non-related men, even if for your children.

If you get any more suits from anyone, take it to your nearest donation bin so some poor JW can buy it for 25% of the original price. Just as you would do with any gift that was impractical or inappropriate. Unless you have the receipt or it is from a known store. Then return it and buy some more onesies. You now know how many you can go through on even a GOOD day. :)

I thought it was anti jihadist MARCH and thought it was a great idea. The ham arch was a bit of a letdown.

Probably not doing it at the Villagio Mall in Doha. Is ham a big deal at Christmas time in Spain?

It's kind of odd looking, it's not one of the more attractive food displays. I rather liked the quality street candy display they did at Christmas time in doha. And that chocolate hazelnut candy wrapped in gold foil. . . Great hostess gift for Ramadan and Christmas parties.

I don't know about Jihadists. As a Muslim I'd walk under on my way to the chicken department. Of course I'm a real radical-I play "this little piggy" with my granddaughter

Cracked under pressure

a big problem i have always had when talking about anything related to jw teachings, is that i get aggravated and frustrated when logical black and white concepts/scriptures are not seen/interpreted in a logical way.

it really frustrates me having to hear '' oh no this does not apply here '' in every scripture that i bring to my parents attention.

starting from when i was 16 to about 20, my frustrations would lead to these anger fits.

The writing is fine. I understand that years of frustration can push ones reactions.

No religious conversation with JWs is going to be positive,the negatives can be put on back burner but they simmer . Just don't go there.

Elder harassed my mom and asked for donation

my mom had surgery last month and she developed complication and had to be on antibiotics to treat infection.

so, she is recovering slowly, but things was tough on her and she was not attending kh or went to assembly two weeks ago.

nonetheless, elder showed up at her place and instead providing her with comfort he started to harass her that her faith is weak, she does not put trust in jah, etc.

Well, she isn't blind to what's going on. So if she plays the game, she knows the score.

Malik, I hope your mum is soon well, and I hope she keeps her spunky nature when she's not broke and in pain. Remind her that JWs brag about the anonymous nature of donations. Maybe she can shove that point into the next shakedown session.

That point could be made to elders, area overseers and branch without naming names.

The only vote she has is with her wallet.

5 years!

I saw attempted assassination of Reagan and pope j.p. I personally have been affected by two big eruptions in two parts of the world, several earthquakes and hurricanes, a revolution, a near shut down of Seattle in the 70s with years long unemployment while we went hunting, fishing and gardening to eat, not hobbies. I watched Challenger blow up and the wall fall. Iran, Iraq, gulf wars and huge tensions with IrAn while my family lived across the Persian gulf and husband worked on military base. 2008 financial meltdown, dude, I lived in the Bronx and was in a subway car that had a gunman in it-1987-it didn't make the news, even

Humanity muddled through while individuals don't always. Try paying attention for 50 years and you will have a more realistic perspective.

Scripture fatigue

i wondered why i felt so fatigued over many years from hearing the same things again and again at the meetings.

even the scriptures become too familiar.

a few days ago i quickly read through all the gospels and realised i knew all the verses in detail.

I never knew all the beatitudes, just that the meek would inherit the earth. They made that passage all about their agenda and I never had a sense of what jesus was talking about. Still irritates me. Bible believers, my foot! The bible is a tool to push their agenda.
