Trying to Forget the Four Cruel "Sisters" From Three Different Congregations
by Loi_241 ini had a problem with four cruel "sisters" from three different congregations.
i was learning how to manage my emotion to these women because they were strong emotion to me.
i know the scripture inform me to not to hold against them as god will take care of them.

If people are not good to you, don't waste your time or energy on them. Be civil and find other people to be with. Thats all. -

When I have a look at my finances and the income isn't as much as the outgo, I do the beans and rice thing. I don't come on here and tell you about it and tell you where my slot is so that you can give me your valuable things:) Man, that sounds wrong, doesn't it?

I just heard something that disturbed me. A youth has to fill out a form from the bOrg that he wants to be an unbaptized publisher.
by Driving Force inthis is in germany.. is this something new?
has anybody else heard this that somebody wanting to be an unbaptised publisher needs to fill-out a form from the borg.. i have not seen the form..

I just started filling out the time sheets once I had whatever the (then current) minimum was to be considered a publisher. I never got baptised. Left when nearly 16. I was DA'd right around the time Franz was and I have wondered lately if they assumed I was already baptised (as until I was 14-15 I was a great little sycophant JW and was still active until they DA'd me. Or said that I DA'd myself. Anyway, I got announced after one meeting with them. Ohhhh, what a loving provision!

Devout JW has the blue JWFACTS.com icon on their FACEBOOK page.
by PaintedToeNail inrecently my 'in' hubby did some work for another jw.
there was need for me to communicate with them and i used facebook to do so.
it was amusing to find the blue jwfacts.com logo on their page instead of the jw official logo!

Wellll, I hope they don't discover THAT mistake until they have already resolved the mistake of being a JW! -

I ate a REESES PEANUT BUTTER CUP
by JWdaughter init had a football printed on it!
do they sell more because of it?
do they think i need a reminder of the season (its been a rough season for football in seattle)?.

I shoulda froze it.
And to an earlier poster, the experience altogether felt quite profound at the time:) I thought I should share.
Does anyone else ever think about the simple pleasures of childhood and how we imagined things to be as adults? Who knew? Reeses is probably the least of the shockers.

I hardly ever eat candy. I love it, but I can't hardly bring myself to pay for it when I remember 5 for a dollar deals. . . I'm cheap. I paid $1 for that stupid candy bar!
I kind of miss the days when I looked forward to candy like it was. . . you know, CANDY. You know, not getting it without mom's ok and then getting it was like winning a battle or something? Maybe I need more drama with my chocolate? I was a really fat kid. I wish I still took the pleasure in it as I did back then when it was forbidden:) It was good, but the last years have resulted in me eating half, sticking it in my purse and forgetting it until it petrified or squished and ruined my purse (in one case, my computer case. Bummer.) I really only have the appetite for the mini's these days normally.
I kind of thought I would eat candy with impunity and great pleasure when I got older. Give me another 25 years and check back with me, I guess.

Welcome! Its easy and user friendly. You will get used to the new bells and whistles in no time. Simon is kinda awesome at this.
I am super glad to hear that you have good news. I don't remember you, but I've been around longer than my name. My mom is still dishing out the JW drama. I think she's a lifer:(

Could Wt afford to proselytise in China if they were allowed in.
by joe134cd ini was just thinking today if china opened it doors to wt, and there was the surge of interest as was the the case with the european eastern block countries when communism 1st fell.
what would be wt reaction toward it.
could wt even afford to proselytise in china.

There might be initial interest out of curiosity, but seriously, the WT isn't very appealing on the face of it, and less so as time goes by and they are exposed. By joining, all they get is basically, a bunch of crap. It might appeal to some weirdo's who have no family and long for one, but with the culture as it is, I think one would have to be pretty sold out to go against the entire culture, and I think the WT is something that can suck people in, but doesn't inspire them to get "sold out" at the onset. Family there is tight. The elder generations hold a lot of sway and are respected. JWs really screw with the structure of life there and they KNOW that just being religious at all will result in some kind of marginalization, much more so Christianity, and more so a cult. Being a JW here is about conforming your life to JWism. There it is about giving up everything and I think that is a tough sell because JWs message doesn't inspire one to do that for it.
I had a chinese co-worker years ago. She dropped EVERYTHING when her mom was sick. (I got her job for months while she was ill until her mom died). Before that, she wore the dresses her mom picked for her wedding (both the western style white one and the red chinese style one) Everything was about pleasing the parents for their wedding-it really had nothing to do with what she really wanted. I had a hard time relating as a young American born woman. I can't see even her, raised mostly in the US, going against her family religion and tradition openly.

What is happening in India?
by Vanderhoven7 ini read a thread recently that spoke of the wt ceasing to print watchtower and awake mags in india.
does anyone know if there is any substance/documentation to that claim?
-

Religions have to get a waiver to transfer money to India and it requires actual charity, no evangelism. -

Other Christian groups who do humanitarian work can bring money to the country but anti conversion laws keep out non Indian nationals and money. The wtbts likely can't get a waiver on the money transfers because they are only there to convert. Humanitarian values are not JW values. They aren't providing schools or clean water out of Christian love.
In fairness to WT they are shutting down India for lack of options. They are not self supporting and govt doesn't allow hq to send any to subsidize.
