  You'd think before they made the statement about thousands of new halls that they would have done the study that LATER told them that they just needed to re-arrange halls. Good thing that they are instituting new programs to further maintain their primary mission-Income property..

  More bad news for the Organisation in Australia

  it appears the the commonwealth government is bringing in a national compensation scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse with individuals able to claim up to $150,000 each.

  it's clear that the australian government will not be able to fund this program without serious money from the offending churches.

  I look forward to reading their pious, self righteous and self congratulatory response. No matter what they say, they will be either implying that their actions brought about the "justice" or that they are being persecuted. Depending on which way they decide to play this.

  I met this older lady once who was giving me grief for allowing my 7 year old to sit on a toilet seat. Turns out her 2 granddaughters had used a dirty bathroom once and later, three of them were found to have 'crabs' (pubic lice). Obviously, the two who caught it from the public toilet seat(her presumption) gave it to the third (who had apparently never met up with a bathroom at the rest stop). So, she had 3 granddaughters who had crabs and assumed that they got it from a toilet seat. . . because to think anything else-even the obvious! was unthinkable. They had probably all been molested by a pedophile in the family or friend circle. But, rather than even thinking of the obvious, she decided it was the toilet seat that they didn't hover over years ago and then passed on to their little sister.

  Jehovah's witnesses will always assume that the crazy outcomes in their WT worldview comes from the world without it ever occurring to them that it is right there, in their homes, in their halls, taught to them religiously at conventions and in the insidious, cheap little booklets lurking in their bags.

  Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?

  i remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.

  Mormons tell better Mormon jokes than anyone. JWs think any criticism of them or the WTBTS is led by Satan himself. Mormons can advertise their religion in the playbill of the play that is lampooning their religion. Would JWs do that?

  I live in Texas. Were Muslims all hysterically insane at any insult to the prophet, then you'd have a real crisis. We have a LOT of Muslims in this area. Yeah, if you are saying rude things TO offend, most Muslims would think you were rude-and if your intent is that, then duh, yeah, you are trying to offend and it works.. Everyone in my family has said idiotic and intentionally rude things to me about my religion just to see what would happen. Obviously, for all the big mouth talk about how violent ALL Muslims are(because the religion demands it, according to the blather), most don't buy it, they just like the rhetoric.

  Major congregational quake in Southern California

  this notice is not official yet and it should be confidential until released thru the proper channels.

  a friend of mine told me about a huge elders meeting in southern california.

  the subject was the relocation and dissolution of some congregations; it seems that this is the result of some project that has been going on for some time and is going to be implemented right now.. please let me know if this is happening all over the country?.

  Ultimately, the money always will be routed to the borg and always has. Before, it looked nicer, and you had a "choice" of donating extra funds to the borg, but I remember, whenever our hall had ANYTHING above a few months expenses, they voted to send it back east to the borg. Even before the KHs all "belonged" to the WTS, they ultimately did. Now, they just officially do. It's not like any congregation was dissolved and the funds got sent to save the children or the local dog rescue or homeless shelter.

  Potential Muslim convert

  about a month ago, i purchased arabic/english gospels of john that contain a commentary for muslims.. .

  i went to one of my neighbors and spoke to him and gave him one.

  fast forward to today, my brakes need done so i took my car to the shop, walking back into my street i saw my friend abdullah outside.. .

  One way or the other, no individual JW was ever going to see any of the money again. Whether the WT forced it or just manipulated more gently, all the money has been going to the borg anyway. How many KHs ever had an active charitable arm? Whether for members or not? None. An individual may help out a friend, but that is where it has always ended. Congregations pay for the needs and even when I was in, decades ago, the extras got sent to NY. I honestly don't know why you all seem to think this is a new ploy. They are just demanding it now instead of quietly expecting it as their due.

  Rape Victim Forced To Listen To a Tape Of Her Assault In A JC

  a rape victim was forced to listen to herself being raped while the elders stopped and started the tape claiming she was consenting.

  even though during one of the assaults she was duct-taped, gagged and had a pillowcase over her head.

  I don't think that expecting that known abusers would be kept in check in some sort of way is naive. Until I left, I had no idea that men who were known abusers were going out in service. I thought that known "immoral" people would not be going to doors. Was I naive??? YES, and you want to know what? Fourteen year olds SHOULD be naive, and if parents see their kids spending time with other kids that all go out in service as MINISTERs, they are all going under the impression that they are in clear standing. Most don't sit there with a handbook of how bad one is allowed to be and still be considered to be "in good standing". Most assume the best of people who call themselves BIBLE INSTRUCTORS. While in the borg, we are told we are the best of the best, and that we are the chosen people. So, people are stupid and buy that crap. I don't anymore, but my mom would not believe and does not believe any of the news reports about rapists or abusers still in service, or known abusers being in good standing or any of that. Or that the WT policies have aided and abetted abusers for a long time. Naive is what JWs are about other JWs. I had no dad who was an elder to warn me about certain other JWs. We only had our guts to go on in my unconnected house.

  I knew nothing about anything but DFing or being in good standing when I was a kid. No one talked about marking, reproving was a mysteriously vague kind of notice.
