As a believer, build your spiritual relationship exclusive of any other human. You go before God individually, not corporately, for judgement. If your dad is praying, thank him for the care, but point out you are seeking God alone as those people have cast you out physically and metaphorically. They aren't an option. Just state the fact with no recriminations. Then move on to better things.

I just hope he has some self interest that would make him back off of nuking anyone. Most of those he would want to nuke have something he wants or needs or is close to an ally. Jerusalem is at the center of the middle east. North Africa is near Europe, the rest of Africa has animals he or his kids get off on shooting. . .Russia can fight back and will. China. . .iffier. Mexico is close and he's investing inThe wall. . . He can't get money out of a nuclear wasteland. Unfortunately, he seems to act, then think. Hope his handlers have some strong zip ties.

They should not be writing anything internally that they are ashamed to show the entire organization since they don't have any clergy or more important folks. Don't write and do stupid or ethically dodgy stuff and there won't be any issues with leaks. Then you don't need diapers to stop your leaks.

Welcome President Pence!
by Wasanelder Once incan we expect legal problems for trump to cripple his authority?
remember that trump u. is still pending as well as multiple accusations of groping.

The civil suit regarding the rape was dropped. No criminal charge made. I think the university and fraud stuff is civil rather than criminal. There are two suits there, I believe.

Did anyone vote yet?

I voted, Houston, no lines, no issues. If you move in TX, you have to vote at precinct you are registered in on voting day, so hubby and I had to drive to where he was registered from his old address. 5 minutes away, no worries. Both places had no lines. Dont like the machine much and can see how mistakes could be made if one is careless. I was not!

Could this be the reason for one day assemblies
by Sour Grapes inlast saturday i sat through the one day assembly and i waited for the anticipated accounts report.
for one day the costs were $10,000.
even my wife questioned why the costs are so high and why don't they give a break down on the costs?

It doesn't cost the WT anything but slave labor without electronic transfers, most electronic transfers have fees charged to either the recipient or the sender. Think how many things you have automatically deducted. Then go look at your bank and credit card statements. Do you still want or use all those products and services? Probably not. For a few bucks a month, you might not care enough to bother cancelling a magazine or charity or some membership or another. You tend to go along with the status quo. They count on it.
Getting your bank(routing) info vs your card numbers mean that you won't revisit your decision every time you replace your credit card. That's great for mortgage and trash services, not so much for optional, variable services. Don't have anything come directly out of your bank unless it is critical for your life. Putting things on debit cards that expire gives you a chance to revisit your choice or simply drop it when you don't update it. Helps one avoid having money sucked up into places you don't need or want.

You'd think before they made the statement about thousands of new halls that they would have done the study that LATER told them that they just needed to re-arrange halls. Good thing that they are instituting new programs to further maintain their primary mission-Income property..

More bad news for the Organisation in Australia
by no-zombie init appears the the commonwealth government is bringing in a national compensation scheme for victims of institutional child sexual abuse with individuals able to claim up to $150,000 each.
it's clear that the australian government will not be able to fund this program without serious money from the offending churches.
so it's bad news for the organization today.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-04/government-announces-redress-for-abuse-victims/7996092.

I look forward to reading their pious, self righteous and self congratulatory response. No matter what they say, they will be either implying that their actions brought about the "justice" or that they are being persecuted. Depending on which way they decide to play this.

I met this older lady once who was giving me grief for allowing my 7 year old to sit on a toilet seat. Turns out her 2 granddaughters had used a dirty bathroom once and later, three of them were found to have 'crabs' (pubic lice). Obviously, the two who caught it from the public toilet seat(her presumption) gave it to the third (who had apparently never met up with a bathroom at the rest stop). So, she had 3 granddaughters who had crabs and assumed that they got it from a toilet seat. . . because to think anything else-even the obvious! was unthinkable. They had probably all been molested by a pedophile in the family or friend circle. But, rather than even thinking of the obvious, she decided it was the toilet seat that they didn't hover over years ago and then passed on to their little sister.
Jehovah's witnesses will always assume that the crazy outcomes in their WT worldview comes from the world without it ever occurring to them that it is right there, in their homes, in their halls, taught to them religiously at conventions and in the insidious, cheap little booklets lurking in their bags.

Why are JWs so sensitive to criticism?
by Half banana ini remember a roman catholic priest acknowledging on the bbc that the outrageously anti-clerical tv comedy father ted was a humorous mocking of his church but an acceptable thing.. try mocking the jw religion to a believer and the result is so very different.. just why is it that jehovah's witnesses can never take even the faintest hint of criticism of their religion?.

Mormons tell better Mormon jokes than anyone. JWs think any criticism of them or the WTBTS is led by Satan himself. Mormons can advertise their religion in the playbill of the play that is lampooning their religion. Would JWs do that?
I live in Texas. Were Muslims all hysterically insane at any insult to the prophet, then you'd have a real crisis. We have a LOT of Muslims in this area. Yeah, if you are saying rude things TO offend, most Muslims would think you were rude-and if your intent is that, then duh, yeah, you are trying to offend and it works.. Everyone in my family has said idiotic and intentionally rude things to me about my religion just to see what would happen. Obviously, for all the big mouth talk about how violent ALL Muslims are(because the religion demands it, according to the blather), most don't buy it, they just like the rhetoric.
