Memorial Non-Attendance: The Single Most Impactful TTATT Witness to JW Friends & Family
by AMNESIANO in(original version posted 2014).
notice: the following is submitted in full recognition of and with compassion and due respect for those who, due to personal circumstance, feel they are unable to employ this powerful strategy.. ---.
anyone who has awakened to ttatt and has conscientiously left the organization--especially a once-prominent, highly-regarded, studious true-believer from a celebrated multi-generational tribe of jws-- after decades of devout, high-profile "serve-us," who continues to put in an annual appearance at the memorial thoroughly subverts and undermines, by this one act, any hope s/he may entertain that his/her departure will stir family or former friends to question the whole watchtower bamboozle.

I have no desire to go, nor have I gone in well over 2 decades (wow, when I thought about it, it was weird how long its been-and I can still SMELL the KH.)
I don't have any stellar reputation at the KH and no one misses me anymore there but maybe my mom. . . but not really. I will never give them a number to count-for any of their statistics, unless it is the BILLIONS of householders who declare their lack of interest.

Number of Muslims protesting London terrorist attack = ZERO. Number of Muslims protesting forced Mosque closure in France = HUNDREDS
by kpop inso it is now two days after another islamic terrorist attack.
how many muslims are in the streets protesting and condemning this evil?
how many are marching in all the big cities condemning this in mass protests?.
-
JWdaughter
Kind of apples and oranges.
I don't see every JWs here protesting ARC by marching somewhere. If you did, would anyone notice? Would they care?
Like you all failed to notice or care that a vigil was held to support the victims of the attack that was attended by Muslims standing next to Christians, Buddhists and Atheists?
Are you protesting against white male army veterans who attack innocent people because they are black? Because the murdered man was no less a victim of a twisted mentality than the victims in London. But even though there is a far higher proportion, I am certain, of criminal behavior in former military men in the US than the proportion of terrorists among Muslims, NO ONE thinks that is a group to protest and condemn, nor do you condemn OTHER army veterans/families/Americans/white men for not protesting that guy (or many others of their ilk).
I no longer march about anything. I don't know what's going on about the mosque in France. Seems to me those folks need to find their own building and leave the govt. out of it. But I have seen Muslims happily pray in the streets in Cairo, Egypt and Qatar, so I don't feel too back for them, except that it seems there is no where for them (from that mosque) to pray legally in community, which is very important to Muslims, especially on Fridays.
For all the families that have been harmed by insane ideologies around the world, I pray that they will find some peace and don't live in fear of horrific mentally deranged people. of any stripe.

Do they count any cash in this as being donations? With the sell offs, would that property converted to cash be considered as their donated income since most of those buildings were originally built or bought by individual congregations and now seem to be ceded to the WT when they are emptied of JWs by hook or crook? I don't think most were considered WT property per se, until they are de-commissioned as Kingdom halls. (Not sure how it works in the UK).
Plus, isn't that the year all congregations were to send in their entire capital less $5000?

Desperate 67 year old JW sister looking for a mate at Eharmony!
by Iamallcool infew minutes ago, i was at eharmony.
one lady said at her profile that she is passionate about serving jehovah.
she is like 67 years old!
-
JWdaughter
67 year olds shouldn't be on eharmony? Or JWs? Is she more desperate than the OP? Seriously. My mom is past 70 and I know she isn't desperate, but she would like a companion and a person to share her life with. She's lonely. Not desperate, but she doesn't want to travel with strangers or be the fifth wheel. Single supplements. All that.
Her congregation might give her a bad time for being on such a site, but why would she be a person to be mocked and laughed about HERE? Most of us aren't so young anymore, doesn't mean we don't want a person to be OUR person.
Sadly, you are probably right, she won't find a JW online. She might, though.
Few of us WANT to be alone. 67 and in good health means a 20 year life span ahead. That's a long time without a person of ones own.

GB asks every JW to give Putin their home address
by MrHappy injw's around the globe have been encouraged to write letters to putin and the russian government.
they are expected to give their personal details on the envelope.
i appreciate that this might be normal when writing to your own government if they are tolerant, but is this not a bit strange that the gb want to give putin the address of every jw in the world?
-
JWdaughter
They want to be persecuted. They want the purple triangles. Duh.They probably figure since Putin and Trump are "apparently" in cahoots that maybe they can get the majority of JWs on Trump's radar of oppression, to-so he can do to JWs what he is doing to every other dodgy group. You know-like women, immigrants. People who look like they are not descended from Mayflower passengers, disabled people. People who didn't vote for him, most people who did vote for him, republicans, democrats, actors and actresses. . . really, Trump has expressed his disdain for SO many groups, but has he ever said a word about JWs yet? I don't THINK so. How can JWs be oppressed when they are such a miniscule group that they don't make it on trumps radar? Piss off his buddy! That'll do it. They really ought to just tweet something that pisses him off mildly. More direct. He'd start threatening them and then they could claim persecution..

Million Euro Scandal in Spain
by Calebs Airplane inhttp://cronicaglobal.elespanol.com/vida/testigos-jehova-agujero-empresarial-galicia_69908_102.html.
the jehovah’s witnesses leadership (in northern spain) requested that a local material supplier (owned by rank-and file jws) not divulge that a million euros are unaccounted for.
the cult leadership requested peace from the congregation so as to put pressure on the material company’s owners (who are jws) and thereby avoid any possible litigation.. this case affects a well-known construction supply company with its headquarters in a large northern city.

JWdaughter
Yeah, but they NEVER pressure victims to remain silent. There is NO overt or covert threats or implications made when a JW seeks redress of rights. It is just nuts for victims to make such claims against jehovah's clean organization. It's preposterous I tell you, PREPOSTEROUS.
Whenever I saw victims make the claim that they were pressured before during and after to NOT reveal abuses (of any kind) within the organization and saw the organization DENY it, I just want to scream bloody hell. I remember getting those lectures from the podium after various scandals erupted in the congregation or region. Keep family issues with the family, right? Even 3rd world countries know that CORRUPTION IS CORRUPTION, whatever you call it.

My heart goes out to you. Broken bones are the pits. Take care of yourself, and find an outlet that doesn't get you navel gazing or trying to fix the world. That is crazy making (says the crazy lady:) ) If you can do something productive with your time off your feet, I really encourage you to do it, whether its a memoir or finding work you can do from your computer. Idleness is really a mental danger.

There is a cart by a local mcdonalds that is attached to a gas station on a super busy road near a bus stop. In SE Houston. No one gets out of their cars there, and it doesn't even seem a safe place for buses to stop, but they do. Its not the kind of place to slow down and there is no where to park near where they are as the drive through inhibits car traffic AND foot traffic other than the bus riders. There are usually two carts and no one talks to them. Why would they?
Then there is the two ladies sitting on a bench in NOLA by the big river excursion boats. Not a cart in sight, not a book, not a bookbag. (is that a rule?) but they had the WT ;propped up on their laps while they gossiped.
I did have two visits in two weeks from the locals. Must be a big shot visiting or something. They had nothing to say, it was sad. Neither did I, which might be sadder.
