  i was eating lunch with 3/4 of my active jw family earlier today and they were bemoaning the idea that they were going to have to leave the central oklahoma area very early tomorrow morning to find a room so they could attend an assembly on the otherside of the state.

  they had tried calling the 'approved' hotels and motels in the town where the assembly is being held and they were all booked.

  so that left them looking at the rest of the approved list and having to travel as much as 50 miles away to get a room.

  We had a Sheridan hotel right beside our District Convention site once that was not on the list.

  DURING the sessions, an announcement was made that any Brothers and Sisters staying at the Sheridan should report for a meeting during the lunch hour.

  Anyone stupid enough to go were balled out for being disobedient.

  Yes, I would not let my beautiful daughters die in a car accident by denying them blood.

  BUT, if some really believe some of the blood issues of the WT ...

  The red stuff under the plate of your steak is not blood. The INTENT was still to bleed the animal.

  Sorry Man! Hate to tell you. The red stuff at the bottom of the plate is NOT blood.

  It's not blood or fat it's a protein from the muscle tissue - The attempt WAS made to bleed it!

  FYI:

  This is from the FDA's website: Liquid in Package
  Many people think the red liquid in packaged fresh beef is blood. However, blood is removed from beef during slaughter and only a small amount remains within the muscle tissue. Since beef is about 3/4 water, this natural moisture combined with protein is the source of the liquid in the package.

  geesh - i didn't think anything could top bush's ridiculous, moronic, arrogant comment about how lucky americans were that they could work 3 jobs...i'd really like to see him do the one he has without taking months off on vacation, but hey, never going to happen.

  right now the government is trying to figure out a way to make the recession a short one and here's a wonderful quote from 2 of the republicans - ...i cannot wait for the elections to come.

  topping congresss agenda as it returns this week is a plan to jump-start the economy and try to shorten the slowdown that many economists say has already begun to take hold.

  In order to please Jehovah, the Jews were required to obey the Ten Commandments and also a wide variety of about 600 additional laws. Later, under the Christian arrangement, obedience to these laws as such was no longer a requirement for serving Jehovah, not even for fleshly Jews. The laws no longer binding included those dealing with circumcision, keeping the Sabbath, offering animal sacrifices, and observing certain dietary restrictions. (1 Corinthians 7:19; 10:25; Colossians 2:16, 17; Hebrews 10:1, 11-14) Jews—including the apostles—who became Christians were released from the obligation to keep laws that they were required to obey when they were under the Law covenant. Did they complain that God’s arrangement was unrighteous in having formerly required of them things that were no longer necessary? No, they rejoiced in the broadened understanding of Jehovah’s purposes.—Acts 16:4, 5.
