Thanks Blondie for the info.
Depend......Sorry, I have A lot of time on my hands...
i'm from south los angeles and been to black congregations all my life, but i moved 70-75 miles north from where i grew up.
i just want to know the difference ..
I have mention this before, moved too Olk. to server where the need is great.
The town 97% white, Iam black. Three elders black and one Ms (white). The
cong. 95% white. The town we live in was A hot bed for the kkk in the 60-70,s
I served from 1977-1987. Moving from California I did not realize there was
A neighborhood for black and one for whites. We moved into the white neighborhood.
A town meeting was held as to what steps can be made to move my family out.
They thought I was there to start A black movement, boy was they wrong.
To make A long story, the ten years we live there, we dine with A ex KKK grand
wizard, I was ask to join the country club. ask to join the local ministers once A week
for lunch. It was a interesting experience, why did I move back you ask, my kids
lost their identity
i can remember one pompous elder asking me "how can you be depressed after sittiing through such a wonderful meeting?!!".
i only ever felt relief at getting away, what about you?.
For me it was like drugs, at first maybe compared to the funny weed, as the
years pass into heavy drugs never fullfilling your needs, so you sitting there
at the meetings all space out in the end.

In my community when A problem arise (gangs, racial, police) who is on
the front line to address the problem, the local ministers. If you
ask A JW to participant, he will tell you we do not have those problems
in our organization. When I tought about who would top my list of
unproductive citizen, number one gang members second JW,s.
Now lets move up too the HQ of JWs in NY. How productive is the branch
in this country, as citizens. Compare them with the HQ of the Mormons
in Utah and the Pope in Rome.
One more question, are minister salary tax emempt?
curious; most profession you need a degree.
i know of several minister.
that do not have a degree in theology.
Juan Miguel; My intention when I ask the question, was not to
degraded people for their convictions. My intention was,
why A profession that influence the greater number of humans
and the way the veiw the world and other humans, govern every
aspect of their life not have A degree in Theology.
Psaramento, have A mechanical engineering and Business degree,
he,s the man I would go too if I have A question about the
practical application of mechanics, but I would never go to
someone that got his degree on line in medicne to operate
on my prostate. The point I was trying to make is, if you
are in the profession to teach and people lives are effected
by what you say, should you be proficient in the very book
that you teach.

thanks Mary; I have notice that in the Baptist church it is the same as
the Jw,s, the ministers come up from the ranks with no former schooling,
on the job training.

order to get your degree?
i just noticed that the dr phil show today (on at 3 pm here) is titled " parents are confronted by their adult children over alleged childhood wrongs".. should be interesting!.
wonder if any will be jw's?.
snoozy.
My Ex is still A fanatical JW, but she apologize to the kids when she
was confronted by them, and admitted that,s the way she was raised
as A child. The beatings do not work, hopefully the cycle has stop for
my grand kids. Only in JW land.
