recently had a discussion with a surgeon who said jw parents "usually" (her word, not mine) privately say they will take blood if the provider gets a court order.. yet another person, with no connection to dubs and no motive to make this up, saying this same thing.

interesting.. i'm surprised the thought police have not come out with an article saying jehoopla reads the hearts and judges as bloodguilty those who are relieved when forced to take blood..

The GB encourage it, as it is bad publicity for them when a child dies refusing blood. Toole, the Watchtower lawyer in Australia has admitted the law should be framed to allow the state to take children off the parents in life or death situation.

"Senator SCHACHT - I see. I just want to turn now to the well-documented case from your point of view about children and the complaint that we have laws in Australia in all states giving medical practitioners the right to overrule the parents .
Mr Toole - We are not saying in our recommendation that the law should not exist. What we have said is that there may well be circumstances arise where it does become an absolute life and death issue. We have said that in those circumstances that is the way the law should be framed. In its present form, the law is not framed that way and it allows an invasion of the family and an overruling of the principles of that family in circumstances that really do not call for that at all." this is one of the most extraordinary interviews i've done on youtube to date and i'm not just saying that.. shawn "zen" dean shared his harrowing story with me of being raised in the jw "truth", going to watchtower farms and then getting his teaching degree only to end up homeless... lots of stories along the way, told with humor, sincerity and a heart full of love.. this is a tender-hearted guy that has had the ass-end of the stick his whole life... that's "the truth"!.

Trinitarians! Who is Jesus Christ's father the Holy Spirit or the Father?

this is one question that trinitarians try to avoid because they have created a very embarrassing problem.

the bible is very clear when the angel tells mary that holy spirit will overshadow her and she will become pregnant.

the angel does not say the father will overshadow her but the holy spirit will and if the holy spirit is a person that would make him the father of jesus.

booker-t, are you sure you understand the doctrine of the trinity? The Father did not become so due to the human birth of Jesus.

RIP: Timothy Campbell

this is old news, as it happened six or so months ago, but i just found out today.

timothy campbell died of kidney cancer in november of 2013. he started one of the first ex-jw forums, beyondjw.

i met him in person once.

Thank you for posting, I was not aware that he had died.

Timothy's site was the first apostate site I found. It blew my mind. I wrote him an email to thank him and was surprised the receive a reply. It was a shame when the site disappeared, but a found a few articles in archive and posted them on jwfacts. New field service rules coming this summer

new guidelines for field service coming this summer.

new publication to be released giving new ways of counting time, conducting studies, group activities, etc..

Who cares if it is 2 billion or 20 billion hours. The measure is how many new publishers. The more easy hours, the more inefficient it shows it to be.

They should be like Mormons and encourage the rich to donate to support the pioneers (by donating to headquarters). Then they get more money and more efficient conversion rates.

I heard an interesting piece of information from a super-elder today

today i attended the special assembly day (sad lol).

i overheard a conversation between an elder and another elder.

we'll call this guy a super elder because he's on all sorts of committees in the area.

You think they would be embarrassed that the 100th anniversary of God's kingdom has passed and it has accomplished nothing, and no one knows anything about it.

You make a good point, sports events get these sorts of attendances every week. The international conventions are special to no one but themselves.

My 45 Minute Conversation With JWs Today

as i was saying before the watchtower literature trolley has arrived in my little town.... my wife and i were in town this afternoon and i saw one of my former elder colleagues standing beside the trolley talking to a young man and reading to him from one of their books.

ray was one my least favourite people - he was everything that is bad about jw elders.

i went up to them and interrupted and told the man that this is a cult recruitment campaign.

I have a few few people at the moment that are translating articles Into Spanish. It is a long project, as getting Watchtower quotes in other languages from older years is time consuming. There are also a handful of articles now in other languages. It is hard finding people to translate and could pay for translation work, but it really needs to be done by a JW to get the terminology correct and I guess would cost a lot.

I have been pondering on the great opportunity these stands present to ex-JWs. In my new place where I live I have only been called on once in 2 years. But I have seen a number of stands. If we start to go and speak to the people, they are our captive audience. Very quickly we could have JWs and the Watchtower afraid of using them. It would be good to have a discussion on topics to use, and things that have worked.

Does anyone remember the article which mentioned that many non-jws would survive armageddon?

i seem to think it was a november wt issue but can't remember precisely, but it was probably printed within the last three years.

after being told for years and years that everyone not a jw would be destroyed, this was amazing to see in print!

yet when i pointed it out to others, they just shrugged it off and left me wondering what i was missing.... does this ring a bell with anyone?.

I don't remember any statement to that affect. The closest I recall is what Blondie quoted, which does not say worldly pepole will be saved, but could be taken as such if someone wants to read more into the statement than is intended.
