I assume you pay to have a stall at the farmers market. Do the JWs pay either the markets, or the council if on council property, or are they illegally setting up their carts? Maybe you could call the council and asked for them to be moved if they are not there legally.

https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/mental-issues.php discusses a couple of cases where the court found in favour of the non-believer, and the reasoning why.
https://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/disfellowship-shunning.php has quotes that show that shunning is very strictly enforced. She could play the 2016 Convention Video on shunning video to the judge, where the mother refuses to even answer calls from the child, and how that coercion forced the child back into the religion.

I have a feeling that sometime down the road these ancestral websites will be blasted on 60 Minutes or just the news in general for misleading people about their genetic history.
I was incredibly impressed by it. My son has a vast mix in him, and the results were exactly what I knew about my history and also that of his mother.

I got mine, and it said I was half British and half Hungarian. Turns out I'm not Australian after all.

Donated Jewelry -- where is it sold?
by anon123 innot really sure in what forum this topic belongs -- trying to find out where kh or other jw org sells the jewelry that is donated to it..

Up to about 7 years ago, my mother used to sell the jewelry that was donated to Bethel. Dad was a CO and would go to Bethel twice a year to do the audit. Mum would be assigned to deceased estates. She would take the jewelry to the city and sell it to some place that bought it in bulk.

I’ve accidentally liked a photo, which turned out to be very awkward. Hopefully your elder is feeling the same way. ... It was a good photo though. -

Have you ever considered trying ancestry.com?
by minimus ini was recently given a gift of ancestry.com and i’m curious if anyone else has used this service?.

I have used familytree. I was blown away at how accurate it was. Absolutely spot on for my ancestry, which spans a few countries. My gorgeous son is even more mixed, and the results were spot on for what I know about his mother’s background.
I also learnt a few things about my background and origin of my name that I was not aware of.

Views on the golden ratio??
by Freedom rocks inwhat are your views on the golden ratio or fibonacci sequence?
i know jws and some other groups use this as proof of gods existence.
i'm still looking into the debate but was wondering what others thought.

People seem to have a very loose concept of what constitutes “proof” of their belief system. That something fits with a belief does not make it a proof. Many such proof can be used to support both sides of an argument, often a confusion of correlation and causation.
The Golden Ratio fits the concept of intelligent design, but no more so than it shows that the universe and evolution exist as the do because they follow a mathematical structure independent of a higher power.

Behaviour in bethel are they like the jw dramas?
by purrpurr inwhat i mean is, i've discussed recently how odd the behaviour of jws is on the drama films that they show at the conventions.
i'm wondering is the reason why it's so odd because that how's the jws at bethel talk and act in real life?
is the behaviour at bethel so warped from the outside world that they actually think that their behaviour is normal?.

When I was at Bethel there were a few types of Bethelites.
1 - constructionites who had not pioneered and seemed very “worldly.”
2 - bethelites that were representative of your normal, “strong” JW. They had pioneered, so been active in their congregations, and often were really nice people.
3 - eccentric ones. Often so-called spiritual young brothers that would never fit in the world, and probably didn’t even fit into their congregations. The longer they stayed the stranger they got.
4 - long term Bethelites that ended up losing touch with reality after being in Bethel for decades, never worrying about earning money, paying bills, cooking for themselves or cleaning after themselves. Single brothers or couples without children, yet giving talks or writing articles on such topics.
Now the headquarters has moved out from Brooklyn they will become more insular and out of touch. At least before they could spread throughout congregations and get some interaction with people living normal lives.
