You are likely correct Wonderment. Very un-Christlike display is shown by the witnesses. When you think about it, JC never had a record of shunning anyone. In fact(something foreign to witnesses), JC did just the opposite...eating with those who had strayed. I believe this gave those lowly ones strength to turn around.
I am sure their absence of empathy from the witnesses and disdain for those who leave comes from a lack of accurate knowledge. They believe and buy the myths that have been delivered in the publications and from the platform.
Perhaps the Lord's example should be the overriding example, rather than cling to Paul's admission in Corinthians?
