  VENT: Disrespectful Teenagers

  at my little neighborhood grocery store, there is a bagger that's always there - mr. lamorris.

  mr. lamorris is an elderly black man, tall, thin, with graying hair, and clothing that is always too big for his skinny frame.

  but what's so sweet is his mouthful of gold teeth to match his ever present smile and positive attitude.

  Andy,if I had been there it would have taken alot of self restaint to keep me from smaking her upside the head.There was no reason for her to have talked to this man that way none!!! It makes me so mad to hear that someone would talk to an older person like this. I honestly can't belive she would do it in front of you, how rude and thoughtless.Good for you for saying something to big mouth.

  now as much as no one wants to admit it, we all know that there are things we learned in the borg that we'll never forget even if we live to be a hundred.

  what is something that you know you'll always remember (despite your best efforts to forget!

  for me, it's matthew 24:14 and the names of the three hebrews thrown into the firey furnace (shadrach, meeee-shack and a-bed-we-go)

  my mother recently married a brother from germany that she met though one of those sites.

  he is actually a pretty cool brother....for a brother, that is.. so i start looking for folks from my old cong in california and ran into a sisters profile that reads:.

  How were your presentations?

  were you the kind that stayed up for hours the night before finding the perfect point and the perfect scripture...or were you the one that was hastily trying to through something together the morning of and panicking when you realized the circuit overseer was visiting.

  and then there was me...i was lucky if i knew which magazines were "it" for that week, lucky if id read more than the first page, and developed a good deal of improve skill when that 25% "at home" rate popped up on my 1 door in 10. eeps.

  im not sure if anyone realized just how seat of the pants my approach to field service actually was.

  I always read the first page of the mags and the last, that way I always had something to share but I never stressed out about it. Same with my talks I would always do them 2 hours before the meeting. I kind of feel sorry for the sisters that had to be my householders.
