it is one thing to express and opinion, perhaps that you think it isn't as big as you imagined (one wonders what you imagined) but it is another to be downright insulting to people who have put a lot of time and effort into this.. get real.

This information will be great in trying to fight the WTB&TS in court. However, keep in mind that the JW's say their main reason for not taking blood transfusion is found in the Bible.....you know, he no eating of the blood, it's soul. Their medical claims are secondary and backed up by the fact that hepititis and AIDS can be contracted through blood transfusion. No, don't get me wrong....I don't necessarily agree with the WTB&TS...and from a legal standpoint this is Big....but it all boils down to an issue of choice. Take blood or don't take blood......as far as parents making decisions for their children, sad as it is to say....they have that right. They can even choose to end their lives before they are born (yes, I know another issue...I'm pro-choice, anti-abortion. I was judged enough as a JW. No one has a right to judge another's choices). The courts are still going to make decisions when parents differ in their choices, some in favor of the non-witness and some against. It's sad, but it's a fact of life.
It's great that there are people out there willing to take the time and expend the energy to bring this information to us to use in any way we need it. But get real people......bringing down the WTB&TS will never be easy and may never happen. They either have Jehovah on their side......or Satan and neither one can be toppled by man!

2nd Floor of Tuckerton Elementary School, changing classes between Science and US History.....Eddie Grayson passed the 6 of us in the hall and told us the President had been shot. Fifteen minutes later we were called into the auditorium to watch the coverage on TV (we lived across the street, my father had brough a TV in for us to watch).
It also happens to be my brother's Birthday! He's 51 this year!

i simply want to know who owns and enjoys shooting guns on this board.. with that out of the way, i have:a springfield armory 1911 .45 acp in two-tone stainless with all the trimmings.a romanian ak-47 (sar-1) with all-black polymer stocks, 5 30-round magazines, a picatinney rail with a holographic sighting system.
(this one's a real hot rod).a mossberg 590 12 ga. with a pistol grip, top folding stock, heat shroud, maglight on the forestock, and a side saddle.a remington 710 chambered for .300 win mag with a nice bipod and a nine round cartridge holder on the side of the buttstock.

I do shoot High Power, but my best friend has my "mouse gun" and makes the rounds, I just shoot them and hit the target at 600 yards!
My 17 year old daughter shoots all of the above, plus Class III, Semi and Full Auto!

I don't see any mention that he was a JW. There are a lot of people on this earth that refer to Jehovah and they aren't necessarily JW's. So don't get mad at Jehovah, God, Allah or whatever you wish to call him. The man is evidently mentally ill.

SWALKER, I think what happened in your situation is like comparing oranges and onions! The mother should have been turned in to children's services for subjecting her child to such humiliation.
As for the mother referred to in the threads title, I applaud her. I'm getting tired of the "time out", "we've got rights (even though we did nothing to earn them)" generation. I'm not advocating child abuse, believe me I was an abused child, but I am advocating discipline to fit the child and situation. We don't know how badly the child was mouthing back and acting in school, or what steps the parents had taken up to this point and let's face it.....once a child mis-behaves in school, if they don't straighten out in short order.....when they finally, if ever, straighten out their reputations will be reuined, because teachers talk and "warn" other teachers about "problems". So hooray for caring parents using whatever means they can (other than JW brainwashing) to assist their child along the road to becoming a loving, caring, healty, self-sufficient adult.
