  it's surprising how much competence and knowledge a fellow brother needs to have on a topic to have a public talk about it on stage... .

  sunday morning, i pop in right after the song (i always do... i hate singing klingon melodies).

  I still have a hard time getting my head around the fact that when *I* point out inconsistensies, misquotations, or plain simple mistakes in public talks or the mags, it is *I* that has a problem. *I* must be dealt with. When we have writers and speakers that are academically illiterate, the inmates are indeed running the asylum.

  Do you have any 'holdover' beliefs?

  after reading and responding recently to a post about eating pork and clean and unclean meats, and also a few about newfound freedoms and pleasures that some enjoy now that they are out of the jws, i got to wondering if there is anything like that on the flip side of the coin.

  in other words, despite you leaving the wts, is there anything you still believe that they taught, even though you left or were forced out, and no longer believe the rest of the jw doctrine?.

  i was never a jw, but i was raised in a rather similar group called the worldwide church of god, many of the controls, strictures, and abuses that i saw as a child there, i see posted about here-though they are different, they are also the same.

  I still believe birthdays and xmas are of pagan origin, but at the same time, thanks to the Society's use of Weigall's book THE PAGANISM IN OUR CHRISTIANITY, I also believe Christ is if pagan origin, as well as other biblical myths.

  Did Anyone Ever Try To Get The UN Scandal In The News Here In Canada Or The

  hi, i am new to this site as of july.

  i just disassociated myself last month (history of why and the elders visit i think is on my profile) anyway did anyone evere try to get the un scandal in the news somehow here in canada or in the us?

  To JW's, it has to be a big deal, and this is evidenced by the fact that the UN has been so inundated with requests on this topic that they had to issue a statement which can still be download from their site. I have had some brothers tell me that it is not a big deal, just as I have had some tell me that the mistakes they still make are not a big deal either. Most JW's however are completely unaware that this has happened.
