Thoughts please..
by WILKO inthis is something that i would like thoughts on, well two things really.
i was disfellowedship about ten years ago, so witnesses reading this will say am bitter, apostate, whatever they like, couldnt careless really, am just an ordinary gal married expecting her first baby working etc... but is it or is it not unchristian to be ignorant?.
thats what some witnesses do to those disfellowshipped.

This is something that I would like thoughts on, well two things really.
I was disfellowedship about ten years ago, so witnesses reading this will say am bitter, apostate, whatever they like, couldnt careless really, am just an ordinary gal married expecting her first baby working etc..
But is it or is it not unchristian to be ignorant?
Thats what some witnesses do to those disfellowshipped. I will say some, cos some still speak to me as they thought I didnt deserve such a fate or at least thought I should have been reinstated after three years of sitting in a hall of about ninty ignorant beggers!! I had to give up in the end, too many were getting stumbled as the elders wouldnt reinstate me, I think they were worried it would make them look like they had got it wrong or something. Sorry going off plot..
So first of all do we think its christian to be ignorant? Please no endless scripture quotes, I know the one about not eating with such a man, never asked you witnesses to tea!!
And second, I have seen some comments from Witnesses on this site, ie about the apostate leaflet. Am sure they are advised not to visit potentially apostate sites. Well cos am disfellowshipped I suppose am supposed to be apostate so why do they log on to sites like these and read thoughts from people like me who really arent apostate at all just found that the Witness way of life wasnt what they thought it would be..
Comments from anyone? I have nothing against the Witnesses if they want to comment feel free I respect what they do, although sometimes I see them round and about and feel sorry for them in the rain, still preaching, still waiting for armageddon. But they do need to understand that just as you expect people to give you freedom of speech, you have to give others that too, it doesnt make them an automatic apostate just someone with a different view.
Good luck, Sarah x

I Need help!
by cazza ini need help making one of the most important decisions of my life, i was brought up a witness and fell away nearly 9 years ago.
i firmly believe what i was taught and still believe in the truth.
theres just a few questions i would like asking but never have the opportunity to ask anyone.

If you really want to go back and firmly believe that the Witness way of live is correct then talk to the elders, locally. They will make you change your way of life though re fiance. Families and Jws dont mix, especially if you have non belivers in your family, they dont make room for both them and your family. Its a hard choice, I had to choose between them and my family, I choose my family and am glad I did, they wouldnt have stood by me if I had choose them, but it took me three years to find that out. Good luck x

Why JW are overweight and unhealthy
by 5thGeneration inwe were told at our convention that "some" brothers and sisters exercise up to an hour or 2 a day.
"some" even join gyms.
then we were told that this would be "self-serving" and a real waste of valuable time better spent on theocratic things.. ouch!.

BREAKING NEWS: Decision coming down tomorrow in Berry girls' appeal!
by loveis inthe new hampshire supreme court's official site lists the decision for this case (holly berry & a. v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc. & a.
) among those "to be released july 15.".
this decision will be huge for whomever it goes for (the silentlambs or the wts) since it will be from a state supreme court, and thus precedent-setting for the other ongoing cases throughout the country.

We dont need cases like this one to know that the elders close ranks on such matters, keeping it in the congregation and not reporting it to the police as they should do, treating it like the serious crime it is. They take not taking your brother to court very literally, but if the brother is behaving in a very unchristian way then surely the dont deserve to be known as one. But I know this from first hand experience myself and keeping it from the law helping anyone, the victim, the attacker or the reputation of the witnesses.

Anti-Apostate Leaflet for Convention
by slimboyfat ini am working on an anti-apostate leaflet to deflect attention from all those pesky apostates who will be swarming at the convention tomorrow.
keep on the alert - apostates about!
but if we are prepared for what they will say, we can deflect their wicked claims.
-
WILKO
Why bother with a leaflet? If your faith is a strong, "unswearving" "steadfast" and "true" why need a leaflet to deteer other members of the organisation from people who have as much freedom of speach as you do? Thought you were suppose to be rude and unchristian ignoring them, "not eating with such a man" You dont need a leaflet to let them know you dont approve of them finding a different way of life, they dont care.

I was brought up a JW untill I was seventeen, even got baptized. When I was seventeen I got disfellowshipped. Tried for about three years of sitting in a hall of non stop ignorant people claming to be Christian, is it christian to be ignorant or just rude? (thoughts, please) I was so proud, never missed a meeting or a convention, loads in the congregation being disgruntled and gossiping because the elders wouldnt reinstate me, love to make gossip by the way! Then I got a bit fed up, it limbo because you cant have worldly friends but cant in the congregation. Got married to a worldy bloke, which despite how I was brought up is the most trustworthy man on the planet. I thought that would not be possible for a worldly bloke. Nine years later am having my first baby. I just wanted to say that I know at the time you think you cant go on without something that was such a big part of your life and for a while its strange, but then you get over it all, move on the same way as you do anything else and you are happy. I found out that i truly dont need them and are actually better off without them, although I do miss the gossiping bits.
Now i look at them in the street going from door to door in their suits and think, god, (no pun intended) are you still working the same old territory, waiting for armageddon.
Good luck to everyone. For those who remember me get in touch. I was in Holmfirth congregation.

PLEASE REPLY ASAP!!! Disfellowshiped without a meeting with elders?!?!?!
by chok in.
i was trying to fade, and thought i had done so successfully for the past 18months.. i have just received a call from my dad saying it will be announced tomorrow that i have been disfellowshipped... can they do this???.
chok.

WILKO
In short no. After you stopped association with the congregation for about six months or so they dont usually bother anyway. But they are supposed to give you a chance to repent. Shouldnt bother about it if i were you, they are the ones in the wrong so guess what, they get destroyed if and when armageddon comes.
