she didn't believe it at all first,,,she said the documents were altered on line and it was all lies because that would never happen...then I mailed her all the printouts from the UN and Watchtwoer sites and I told her to take them to Georgtown and find out for sure....Well, she phone Bethel and they told her to phone the service dept and she did and a "wonderful brother" told her that yes, it was true but a mistake that they realized and they got out...so she took that for the "gospel"...I told her I was still researching it and was going to find out what the Criteria and the Charter of the UN meant. I told her I was disgusted with the hypocrsy and I was done with the WBTS.

Your daughter is absolutly stunning. She reminds me of a little girl I knew a long time ago. I have a son around her age....maybe they will meet someday and we'll be related "out of the faith"

Why are honest questions considered apostasy?
by Rayvin inthis is why as i was growing up (raised in "the truth") i never asked questions.
i never understood the birthday issue among other holidays.
i never asked because i was scared i would be looked at as an apostate or as someone being worn down by the wicked association.

Where am I now? I am on the slow train out. Maybe faster than I think. I am seriously thinking about disassociating myself but I want to do it without having a big meeting about it. I have learned so much from this board and i don't think I have to subject myself to questions, grilling, etc, I have no strenght to fight but I no long believe that the WBTS has the truth and I want out.

I asked the lady that studied with me about the book by James Penton, in fact, I had taken it out from the library and I showed it to her. She read through some of it but she was very knowledable about scriptures and explained away alot of things. I trusted her totally and I know whe thought she was being truthful so I just took the book back. I studied for a long, long time before I got baptized but didn't study the things I should have. After baptism, one doesn't ask many questions because everything from any other source but the Watchtower is "evil".

Inappropriate "shepherding" calls.
by avishai inhow many have recieved calls by the elders that were under the guise of "shepherding", but somehow inappropriate, i.e, you were a woman alone with only one elder showing up, or you felt physically intimidated by both.
or say they show up at like, 10:30 at night for a shepherding call.
and you say "hey, i appreciate the visit but please call first!

I had an elder and a ministerial servant come for an arrainged visit and asked another sister who lived close by to come to my house so they could"kill two birds with one stone" so to speak. Neither one of us felt comfortable to talk about any problems we were having and it was highly unusual or so we thought but we didn't say anything to anybody about it.

Did you ever want to just 'FOREST GUMP' it out of the Kingdom Hall?
by GetBusyLiving inthe last few weeks of meetings for me were pure hell.
i got a cold sweat sometimes and just sat there fantasizing about running forest gump style out of the kingdom hall.
i was getting "encouraged" to comment more too and i just physically could not audibly promote that crap in public anymore.

I would sit there during the first meeting wondering how I could get up during the song and leave quickly and pray that nobody would try to talk to me on the way out. Sometimes people would be outside or follow me out to the parking lot. I couldn't wait to get the car out of there. I always felt guilty about it though. Sometimes when I had a talk while I was walking back to my seat I would just keep walking right out the front door and leave.
