Anthony Morris raised a family and then went into the traveling work. Later they were called to Patterson. Geoffrey Jackson is an Australian who was a missionary and a branch committee member before being going to Patterson.

  Wow, this is incredible. You are obviously much more advanced down a path that I aspire to traverse. I read this quickly but am going to study in greater depth. I have been thinking about some of this in depth recently and a lot of what you have here makes sense to me. A rea eye-opener.

  Why did the WTBTS not sue Ray Franz?

  if ray franz had been lying in anything he said in both of his books, c of c and in search of christian freedom, surely the wtbts would have sued him.

  why did they take no legal action against him?.

  could it be that this legalistic corportion realised he had lied about nothing?

  I remember in those years the Society making a big deal of the Scripture where Jesus told the apostles to 'let the Pharisees be.' The concept was not to respond to 'apostates' because that would just be profitless. Of course profit is determined by who you are in this case.

  I for one grew up as a witness and even witnessed (no pun intended) some of the events Ray Franz describes in his books. Many of the things he says are conclusions I had already begun to come to. But he certainly sped up that process for me and made it much less painless.

  During this afternoon all of Jehovah’s ministers were warned that the enemies to be on guard against are not only those obvious ones ‘on the outside’ but those who profess to be of us yet who craftily seek to weaken our faith and service. Each of us should do his part in helping the household of faith to keep the right attitude toward those who would defame Jehovah, his organization and his organized people. The kingdom proclamation will be completed successfully, for Christ Jesus promised to be with his servants "all the days until the conclusion of the system of things."—Matthew 28:20.

  The "Society" has something called Patient Visitation Groups. These are elders who visit Witness patients who aree in the hospital but not being addressed by their local congregations. Whether this was one of those elders, who knows. But it means that these PVGs as they are called must have some way of finding out from the hospitals that JWs are there. It does sound like some kind of confidentiality breach.

  where would all the money come from if not at all those meetings, in those boxes, ahem!!

  They have been downsizing at Bethel big time. Sending people home, to other branches, printing paperback books, the list goes on. They downsize anything but the stuff that would make sense.

  I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I'm studying for an exam I have tomorrow so I can't write a lot. One day soon I can share my ongoing story. But I wanted to say "Thanks" to everyone here. I have been looking at the board for who knows, maybe a year. I have learned a lot, and have been disabused of the notion that ex-Witnesses or fading Witnesses are some godless creatures with no moral sense. Actually the postings on this board show the exact opposite. I look forward to now being a contributor rather than, what you guys call it, a "lurker."

  Pipe bomb at Bethel.

  does anyone remember the incident that happened back in the summer of 1974 at what was called the "squibb" building at bethel where a pipe bomb detonated at one of the doors just under the bridge that spanned the complex across columbia heights?

  i was at bethel at the time and i even have a picture of two nypd cops standing in front of the scene the day after (if i can only find the picture).

  i was thinking of posting it on this forum but i don't know how.

  Actually I remember that. I was a kid at the time and my parents were notorius for keeping me home from school to go on tours or for lunch. So I was there that day or week (can't remember which) and remember the blown out doorway and side of the building. That was actually the literature pickup and a doorway back then. It was also I believe the start and end of one of the tours.

  Also in 1978, a Kingdom Hall was firebombed in Brooklyn.

  i am planning chartered buses from major centres in the eastern canada and usa.

  i hope that this will be an historic event and make the international news.
