This is all true. It is a double life and I am under no delusions that some massive change will take place, certainly not from my efforts. And hey, listen at meetings? I definitely mss a lot, (with good excuse of course ), or find things to do when there. And Thank God for a Treo handheld so I can read email/browse the Web when it gets too boring. Now if I could just logon and post from there....

Greendawn:
There are definitely fellow elders who feel that mercy and love should not come first. And I am in a fairly liberal congregation. I saw a fellow elder get removed because he was "too merciful" in some JCs. And it was the CO who went after him.
LittleToe:
Is that what my two therapists are for?
jstalin:
I've read both of Ray's books. They were what changed me. Its unfortunate but true, WTS won't change much. Maybe the constant legal pounding will help some. When I feel like I can do no more good or when my family is ready, I'll probably be gone.

Most of you have seen me post under my alias truthsetsonefree. Some call me "tsof" which is cool too. One or two of you know me by my real name. I am on the road a lot and I find it easier to browse JWD from a handheld. But it is impossible to post from there. (If someone knows a workaround please pm me.) But I follow this board diligently and really get a lot from it.
I said when I began to post that one day I would write my story. I still plan to do that. But till I find the time to write it out, I thought it beneficial to something out about myself that may be useful in understanding me and in furthering the struggle against the WTS's oppresive and arrogant policies.
I am an elder in good standing and have been for a number of years. I stay in part because of family, but also because I am firmly committed to changing the poilicies of this organization. I feel that people are needed on the inside to help with this. Those of you who know the projects that I have been involved in the past few months know that this is true. I am not at Bethel in case some are wondering that. I don't want to sound like I am more than I really am. But I intend to help in any way that I can. And I do have access to current correspondence and directives from the Society.
Furthermore, I have opportunity to serve on and to chair many JCs. In some ways this is one of the paramount reasons why I remain an elder. Namely to show kindness and consideration to those who end up in this procedure. A committee swayed here, someone not df'd there, is just one more person/family that can be spared the unkind treatment often meted out when one is df'd.
Further, I feel that good elders are needed who refuse to teach these unloving practices and to advocate for those who are still blinded by this religion. I endeavor in all of my parts, including CA parts, to focus on the Scriptures, mercy, kindness and on love. Any that deal with prophecy, the organization or blood I avoid. I refuse to teach something that is not Scriptural or violates my conscience. It is not a perfect way of resisting this organization, this I realize. But it is a way I am finding effective for the time being.

Switching Holy Ghost on and off and using KGB as Gods servants...
by Trojan inthis weeks study of daniel's prophecy book.
this one made me really feel sick....
chapter 16, page 273-275 #7-10. i never saw this and it was there - all the time!

When I first realized this, is was a bit of a stunning realization for me as well. But as Trojan brings out, it proves a few things. In fact this is one of the surest proofs for me that this is just another religion/corporation/organization run by humans beings and that the same rules apply as do say, at my job. Nothing more. Otherwise, if this whole arrangement is run by "holy spirit" how could so many unscrupulous characters get appointed to begin with. And how could KGB/SS/Stasi possibly get appointed simply by saying the right things, attending meetings and going out in service? And if that was done back then, what is to stop someone from doing it now?

JW's poor attitude to medical staff
by Clam ini left the dubs a long time ago, so having been fully deprogrammed i can't always see stuff from the jw perspective.
at my father's funeral a couple of years ago my jw sister chose to give my wife a short sharp lecture about the wickedness of her profession.
my wife is a midwife.

In my congo there is someone in the hospital, one of the best hospitals in the area (a major metro area in the US). Yet I was amazed at how elders and many of the friends felt compelled to stay there to explain what the doctors were saying to the patient. And that despite the record snowstorm this weekend. Plus they made sure that the husband was left at home! I mean, what are the doctors and nurses doing? Aren't they trained professionals? Why do they need uninformed and uneducated JWs to be there to explain anything? I would say that all of this attitude stems from the GBs insistence on this blood doctrine. People try to explain and justify it to themselves and in the process end up making even more of a mess as they try to implement it.

Universal Sovereignty
by joelbear inokay, that's the big deal right.
why billions of people have to starve to death, why millions of witnesses trudge door to door and live perfectly chaste live.. so here is the history of jehovah's universal sovereignty.
in the beginning there was god.

Ad to this that esus came to earth, gave his life for everyone, proved absolutely that Satn is a liar. So another 2000 years pass, no change. Guess that wasn't good enough either.

"These supplies were sent primarily as a gift to Jehovah’s Witnesses, but they were also shared with others."
Governing Body 1997 C.E.
(Matthew 5:43-48) 43 "YOU heard that it was said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 However, I say to YOU: Continue to love YOUR enemies and to pray for those persecuting YOU; 45 that YOU may prove yourselves sons of YOUR Father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous. 46 For if YOU love those loving YOU, what reward do YOU have? Are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing? 47 And if YOU greet YOUR brothers only, what extraordinary thing are YOU doing? Are not also the people of the nations doing the same thing? 48 YOU must accordingly be perfect, as YOUR heavenly Father is perfect.
Jesus Christ c. 31-32 C.E.

Blood giving =ed LIBERATION
by bem ini had to share a moment from my life that came today!!
it was one of those inspiring things that hits you like a lead balloon, you know the feeling?
like good grief that is awesome, to have something that should be so obvious, but so elusive that you hadn't noticed it till now.. when i was growing up it was mentioned how family members ( not raised a jw) had needed blood and different ones gave blood and felt good about themselves for having made the effort to make the donation.

I did it last July. It was such a liberating experience for me as well. I vowed to be a regular donor. Which reminds me....

Yankee Stadium? Not again!
by truthsetsonefree inword has it in new york city that the cozy days at nassau colisseum are over.
(for those of you unfamiliar with new york, the district conventions have been held at an indoor colisseum for for several years now.
prior to that new yorkers were forced into sitting for 3+ days in a hot, humid, sometimes rainy outdoor stadium.

They say it's tentative. Steinbrenner may still turn them down. Then I guess it's Shea, Philly or Virginia.
