Ah reading this thread takes me back a few years!
How's "spiritual food." Or "higher education."
i wanna hear the word that made you either physically nauseous or burst out in uncontrolable laughter.
please demonstrate it in a sentence as well.
mine was 'enthused' (my fingers were shaking as i typed).

i have put together a mash up of active and former jehovah's witnesses, including a number of interesting interviews.. http://youtu.be/ozwvh57erro.
as a side note, i hope it does not get removed for copyright violation, as software automatically scans for pieces of music and i have already received some violation messages.
the video does comply with fair usage laws, as the music is relevant to the commentary..
Excellent video. I always felt that MJ had issues rooted in the confusion created by trying to be a JW. That piece about Christmas seems to confirm that.

i had a lovely mirrored windchime in my house.
my study conductor told me it attracted deemunz and i threw it in the trash.
i've since bought another.. what's the reasoning behind that idiocy??
JW nuttiness!

11 years an elder. As has been said already thet fact that I was out in my thinking for the last 3-4 years of being an elder shows how "spirit inspired" those appointments are.

10 years ago i stopped attending jehovah's witness meetings for good.
walked out of the kingdom hall cold turkey never to return based on injustices i observed among others and myself at the hands of elders giving out not god's counsel but personal opinions as counsel .
some of them weren't even giving out wt society counsel- just personal opinions.
"In closing I have learned I CAN and AM happier not being enslaved by an organization that didn't give a damn about me or others like me. I have much more enduring friendships, a better non-Witness wife, I have the opportunities to pursue my business more fully unencumbered by pressures to perform " WT functions ". I can pursue fun hobbies like playing music on my guitar, singing, hiking & fishing in the mountains, help others in volunteer work without guilt, and feel really good about myself without having to give ANY credit to " Jehovah " or an organization for the good that I do. My self esteem has been built up over these last 10 years and my happiness increases more ad more as the years go on. So that's about it for my ramblings. If any of you newly exiting are reading this, please realize that in your leaving or exiting the Jehovah's Witness cult- your life isn't ending, your whole life is just beginning with positive, new beginnings that will take you places towards freedom and fulfillment. Be patient. It's tough at first, but in time you WILL succeed in having a happy life free of guilt and fear that the WT Society instilled into us. I raise my glass tonight to all of you who have escaped to freedom of mind ! Keep on keeping on, O.K. ? We can all do this!"
Amen Mr. Flipper! I couldn't have said it better.

re: adjustments to draw close to jehovah.
dear brothers:.
some changes involving our understanding of the meaning of gods name and what it re p- resents have been made to the first chapter of draw close to jehovah.
" Whatever this new 'understanding' of Jehovah might be, it will certainly reflectt the small-minded, nit-picky thought processes of the Governing Body. Mark my words!!"
Amen NAVYTOWN! They try to make their people feel oh so special too ifthey have the latest understanding, get everybody riled up over something that anyone who read those verses in Exodus straight out of the Bible already knew anyway.

i'm really interested in this question because i've heard for years that if you forgo further education and go pioneering, when you have a family down the track you will get a good job because jehovah will provide for you because you pioneered.
as long as i was a kool-aid drinker, even then, i thought, "how does pioneering pay your bills?
surely education should come first.
I was screwed by it. I rallied and am doing okay, but I wish I had my bachelor's right now plus a masters in one of the sciences like I wanted. I'll get there but it's a challenge working it around life.

many months ago, i shared the experience of my removal from jehovah's witnesses.
to quickly recap, i had faded from meetings as an unbaptized publisher starting at about age 14 and had later decided to attend college against the wishes of my family.
as i liked to write stories, i sought a job at the college newspaper and became a columnist.. i brought some of my newspapers home during the winter break of my sophomore year, the one time i visited my parents during college.
With an article like that at only 19, I'm glad we've got you out here with us rather than locked up in that cult!
