Why do we say Witness teachings are idiotic - Weren't all of us Witnesses?
by BonaFide inso many on this forum talk about how witnesses are stupid, ignorant, unable to reason, and brainwashed.
we also pick apart the watchtower as having such stupid teachings, and how anyone can see all of it is so ridiculous.
some use terms like the filthful slave, and the washtowel.. yet, many of us were witnesses for years, or even decades.

Hi
To be more precise, Reniaa, and so as not to fall in the same trap being discussed, perhaps you mean
''the vitriolic hatred of SOME ex-witnesses often reminds me of this story''
I have always maintained that when people are angry with others they are primarily angry with themselves first.
Me? I'm angry with Witnesses (but not as much as I used to be) because I'm angry with myself first.
You see, I am still angry with myself when I think back to standing in a small waiting room in a hospital at 2 or 3 am waiting to find out whether my wife and mother of my two children was going to die on the operating table following complications from an earlier in the day operation.
I hadn't believed it was ''the truth'' for years and years but I still went along with it for the status quo. It was my whole life.
But in that waiting room I was preparing for what I thought was the inevitable death of my partner. And I was trying to think of what to say to my two daughters aged 16 and 14 who loved their mother.
''Girls, I've got some bad news. Your mother died last night because of major blood loss and her refusal to take blood.'' (As it was, she asked the doctors to give her blood as a last resort. In the end, they used the cell saver and as far as we know didn't give her blood).
''But Dad, she knew as well as you that it wasn't ''the truth''. Why didn't both of you stop this earlier. Our Mum would still be alive today.''
''Yes girls. I know. What can I say?''
Today both my wife and I and daughters and some in laws and cousins are all out. But I'm still angry at how close I came to letting the situation go so far.
I wish that I hadn't drifted for so long in a religion that I knew was totally and utterly not true.
If my wife had died that day and if I'm angry now, I dread to think how angry I would have been with myself first and foremost and then with ALL Jehovah's Witnesses.
Reniaa, please try and humbly understand some of the anger that SOME ex witnesses have, both with themselves and Jehovah's Witnesses. Please.
That being said I do enjoy reading your viewpoints as it takes two to tango.
Thomas Covenant (still an angry man)LOL

Hi Frozen Moose
I don't know if this is what you are looking for but try www.jw.org where you can download the Society's literature.
I hope the link below works

Special Post: 1 year anniversary on JWN - My intro finally posted
by Awakened at Gilead ini came on jwd a year ago tomorrow, having realized that jws were not the truth, quite painfully, on march 29, 2008. i was here within a week, and within 2 months i was officially dad by my congregation.. ever since joining, i have never actually wrote down a comprehensive look at why i left the organization.
what doubts caused me to leave?
why did a gilead grad leave what i once considered so precious?.

LISTEN TO THE ELDERS CONTRADICT THEMSELVES ABOUT WHO GOD HAS USED IN THE PAST
by Hobo Ken inthis is part 4 of the death or obedience podcast.. concluding part of the first "visit" to "shepherd" us, which turned out to be an investigation in sheeps covering...... part 4 here.. http://media.libsyn.com/media/tartanpodcast/doro_4.mp3.

Hobo Ken
Well worth recording and very well worth listening to. Thank you.
A good point about why didn't Charles Russell go to the existing faithful slave back in the late 1800's. (There wasn't one of course).
When asked about who will be saved at Armageddon the elders said they leave it to Jehovah. But the Society have printed otherwise. See Blondie.
Thank you

LISTEN TO THE ELDERS TRY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS ON THEIR TEACHINGS
by Hobo Ken inthis blog has audio from conversations with the top elders in this countryduring " shepherding " visits and judicial.. first visit is in 4 parts.. part 1 here.. http://media.libsyn.com/media/tartanpodcast/doro_1.mp3.

Thanks
I'll look into it. The more that is recorded on the 'net, the more evidence against the WT. All JW's can recognize the whole way in which the conversation went as being typical of 'shepherding' visits.
Whilst an atheist myself I wish you well in your future faith.

WHAT DEFINES AN APOSTATE ACCORDING TO THE ELDERS?
by Hobo Ken inlisten to part 3 of the death or obedience podcast which charts the df'ing process from start to finish.. in this part the elders give a "sister" a grilling about her alleged apostasy and attemp to explain how god uses the organisation.. here is the link.. http://media.libsyn.com/media/tartanpodcast/doro_3.mp3.

Excellent arguement about who would be bloodguilty if the WT Society were to re instate the organ transplant ban and people were to die of it. He would not answer where the bloodguilt lies.
As I've said here before, I consider ALL Jehovahs's Witnesses, including myself whilst I was in it, to be PARTLY responsible for all deaths resulting from the blood and organ transplant policies.
A little extreme, I know, lol.
As Flipper would say
Peace out

Thank you very much, Hobo Ken, for your efforts in recording and posting this audio of your meetings.
It is so frustrating.I know it's quite long but well worth listening to.
If you don't mind me asking, how did you record this?
Thanks again
