How should I respond to a JW friend? (Australia)

sorry if this isn't the right place to post this - brand new member here.. i recently caught up with an old friend who is a jw.

she's been witnessing to me, and i've accepted all her handouts because i don't want to hurt her feelings.

but now she's asking me for my "thoughts" about what i've read so far.

Hemoglobin and red blood cells

in a debate i'm having in a forum, i am discussing the subject of fractions of blood and the watchtower's position with respect to acceptance of some fractions while refusing others.. .

in that debate i mentioned that hemoglobin accepted by the watchtower as a matter of conscience is in fact most of the red blood cell (think about 97%) and the other 3% is the membrane lining the red cell.. .

am i correct in this view?

wow, havent been around here in a while and it's nice to see some familiar names as well as new ones.. .

well, its that time of year again when some members of my family decide that they need to go preach where the need is great.

It isn't serving where the need is great.

It is serving where their (own) need is great.

It makes them feel better .

It has nothing to do with reaching new people for other peoples sake.

There are several younger ones from around here that have gone to serve in the Caribbean tropical paradise holiday island of Dominican Republic.

Not many go to either Inner or Outer Mongolia. Funny that.

from the kingdom ministry's, generally july/august issues, i got the following figures for the number of memorial partakers in the usa.

it is usually in the service report but a few were in the branch letter.

note the july '78 branch letter gives a figure for ''the incomplete attendance figures for the continental united states indicate that 1,258,837 were assembled, with 4,293 partaking''.. .

Approx 1,180,000 out of approx 7,500,000 is between 1 in 6, to 1 in 7.

About 15% of Witnesses are American

but about 40% of the remnant are American.

As you can see I couldn't find anything for 71, 89, 90 or 91.

The percentage of American anointed is around 44%, dwindling to about 41% as we get further down. I assume it is an even smaller percentage of the latest 11,202 partakers.

Nevertheless, Jehovah does seem a little partial towards those dwelling in the USA. You truly are blessed.

i, for one, don't believe that the us killed bin laden last week as per their official press releases.

i want to see photographic evidence.

They are in on the conspiracy too.

PS. I also don't believe 12 men, on six separate missions, landed on the moon, or that the Earth is not flat.

Watch For New "Terror Attack"

obama plays the osama card as his popularity wanes and the election day draws near.. nice that he didn't have to provide any proof of his amazing accomplishment in getting dead the number one terror suspect and alleged mastermind of 911 who never even made the fbi's top ten list.. the day before 911, bush's approval rating was around 50%.

the day after 9-11, his approval jumped up to 90%.

there is going to be another false flag terror crisis.
