When my wife was asked about her lack of reporting and field service activity she answered,
''I'm not interested in saving lives''
The questioning stopped there.
being my 1st post i figured i should relate a personal experience.
a few months ago i decided to stop reporting time.
i'm mentally out of this cult now but still trapped because of family.

it's pretty interesting, i think.
Didn't Satan provide the worldly things?
"judge" rutherford defined or classified all religion as "a snare and a racket" in his books "religion" and "enemies".. after rutherford's death in 1942, his protege, watchtower vice president, and aclu darling, hayden c. covington, in the early 1950's, for reasons of legal expedience and supremacist aspirations, suddenly converted the watchtower into a religion.. this was done alongside one of the most audacious, spurious and longstanding swindles of the us legal system.
this involved twisting philippians 1:7 and misrepresenting the watchtower's true nature, objectives and activities.. .
this meant that it became necessary for the watchtower to suddenly reclassify and redefine religion (w51 1/15 p. 43 new legal booklet well named; w51 8/15 p. 511 questions from readers; yb75 p. 161 part 2 "for gladys bolton...").. two new watchtower classifications were suddenly created: "true religion" and "false religion".. now "true religion" meant "true beliefs" whilst "belief" in ever changing watchtower doctrine was equated with the one "faith" of scripture.. all this while the watchtower increasingly and maliciously truncated, obfuscated and hid the liberating full "good news" (or unabridged gospel) of scripture, which it lyingly claimed (in court) that it was actually "defending and legally establishing".. how would you have defined religion before learning ttatt?.
Wishful thinking.

.. if armageddon is "imminent", why is wt focused on sight-seeing, entertainment, travel, etc.
instead of preaching and saving people??.
As portrayed in the video the witness religion of today is not the one that I was a part of seven years ago.
Unfortunately whilst watching it I cannot help but have the emotion of hatred.
this topic is prompted by a phrase used by darth rutherford in his excellent life story.
he said that jw's sit there nodding their heads at what is said from the platform, and, i paraphrase, :.
"they do not know why they believe as they do, but they are prepared to die for those beliefs".. i feel strongly that jw's in this position, and it is only a very few who can explain and attempt to justify their beliefs, are the same as radicalised muslims.. these islamists, mainly young men, can spout slogans, and can sometimes even explain what their beliefs are in a half-arsed way, but thay cannot explain, in words that actually make rational sense, why they believe as they do.. jehovah's witnesses are, in the main, exactly the same.
Having read Darth Rutherford's post the same phrase stood out for me too.
I would add that not only do they not know why they believe, but also what they believe.
And still willing to die for beliefs they don't even know.
tell us a little about yourself and your family.. middle aged male in united states married 3 score and some to a staunch jw.
empty nesters.
wife belongs to a family of jws going back 3 generations.

from this week's book study, the "draw close to jehovah" book, chapter 5:.
biologists have identified well over a million species of living things on earth; yet, opinions vary as to whether there may be as many as 10 million, 30 million, or more.. .
wow!
And this all happened after 2370BC.
when i was last here, my mother had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
there were potential issues regarding transfusion, none of which eventuated.
she undertook a course of chemo which worked quickly and effectively, with minimal side-effects.

'i would like to apologize'.
'i need to apologize'.
'i must apologize'.
I'd like to.
But I'm not going to.
Often I've heard people say , many times in the public eye,
'I would like to apologize'
'I need to apologize'
'I must apologize'
'I should apologize'
'I would like to offer my apologies'
But don't actually say it, 'Im sorry' or 'I apologize'
I've done it myself.
Recently I overheard a conversation where one person said,
'I would like to apologize' and I thought,
'Go on then!'
my wife and i recently took the decision to fade out progressively and we are now in the stage where we no longer assist to our meetings.
in this process, we have told the truth to our respective parents but have not forced ourselves upon them; meaning that: we will talk about it when you want to.
as a result, my mother in-law already had some conversations with my wife on why we no longer went, but never brought up the subject with me, at least, up until yesterday.. she was telling us that a good deal of people miss us at the meeting and i answered that i missed them also.
