Economic Recovery after COVID-19
by Simon init feels like we've really turned a corner, this morning especially.. the covid lockdowns are ending and medical systems were not overwhelmed plus there are existing treatments that have been proven to be effective (like hydroxychloroquine) and new vaccines and medicines in the pipeline.
a week or so ago the dems were dead against opening things up but since they are encouraging protests (which often turn violent) they can't continue that stance - thus proving trumps claim that it will soon be gone.
the majority of the deaths were politician-assisted (which i hope people are prosecuted for) so it's not the big risk we were led to believe and (over) reacted to.. the bls reported this morning that the us economy just added a huge number of jobs (most on record) and will undoubtedly benefit even more from a drive to source local production and supply chains going forwards.

Newgrange—More Questions Than Answers?
BY AWAKE! WRITER IN IRELAND
IN EARLY Irish literature, the place is called Brú na Bóinne, meaning “the House or Mansion of the Boyne.” Today in this mysterious area located at a bend in the river Boyne, about 30 miles [50 km] north of Dublin, some of the world’s oldest tombs are being unearthed. One of these is called Newgrange. No one knows exactly how old it is—although it is thought by some to be older than the great pyramid of Giza in Egypt.

Egypt Has Oldest Paved Road
Research geologists have mapped out a 7.5-mile [12 km] paved road across the desert 43 miles [69 km] southwest of Cairo. The ancient road, paved with slabs of limestone, sandstone, and even some petrified wood, has been dated about 2600 to 2200 B.C.E., during the period of the Old Kingdom

Two years later
Awake 8th March 1988,
Second Boat Found
The second underground chamber near the Great Pyramid of Giza has now been penetrated and viewed through a small camera. As expected, it contained another funerary boat for the “soul” of Pharaoh Cheops. However, the researchers’ goal of recovering a sample of trapped ancient air, to find out what it was like before increased burning of fossil fuels, appears to have been thwarted. “It is unlikely that the air in the pit remained unchanged for 4,600 years,” said research scientist Pieter Tans, who took a whiff of it. “The limestone was extremely soft and porous, indicating that there might not be much ancient air in the pit.”

do the math;
Awake 22nd Jan 1986,
Ancient Air
''What was the air like 4,600 years ago? That is what scientists are hoping to discover when they penetrate an underground chamber on the southwest side of the Great Pyramid of Giza.''
What was the air like 244 years before Noah's flood?

“White Privilege”
by minimus inlately that’s all i’ve been hearing about!
i’m sick and tired of listening to white people begging for forgiveness simply because they are white.
in a nearby town, a six year old girl asked her mom, “ why don’t we have a black lives matter march here?

Minimus,
Here in the U.K. we will sometimes say to a friend
“you bastard”
But if I was to say to someone I didn’t like , or even hated, “ you bastard” I think you’ll agree there would be a difference.
As regards a black person calling another black person the N word , I don’t like it and really think it would be better if they didn’t but I’m guessing they are using it often almost in a friendly way like we call someone a bastard in the uk. “ you little bastard you”.
If a white person was to call a black person the N word I’m guessing it could often be used and viewed as a term of “know your place”.
Wouldnt you agree?

Did they use to applaud after reinstatement after being Disfellowshipped, but then it stopped?
by ThomasCovenant ini don't remember disfellowshippings happening very often and announcements about being re instated but i think i remember that we used to clap hands if someone came back after being disfellowshipped.
but then i think clapping wasn't allowed.
am i correct in my recollections?.

''An AR or AK with a nice drum or two will make rioters and looters think twice.''
Before they shoot you with them, is that what you mean? So if all the rioters had AK47's they'd think twice and then shoot you?

Simon,
''How can anyone continue with lockdowns after the medical people telling us we had to lock down are now saying "sure, protesting in crowds is good". They have zero credibility, their models were wrong and they are demonstrating that they are incompetent political activists more than they are medical people giving out scientific advice.''
Which medical people are saying 'sure, protesting in crowds is good'? Is that in Canada? I don't think they are saying that here in the UK, quite the opposite I think. But if you could show where and who that would be good.
